Default Etron USB3.0 performance increase with new driver

    Hi there,

Since building my new computer (see my sig. below) I had been disappointed with the performance of my Seagate 1TB STAA1000302 External USB3.0
The write speeds were only in the range of ~35-50MB/s and there was an annoying, apparently for no reason pause during writing a large number of files - Etron 1.00.0000.0098 driver.
I noticed on the Gigabyte website a new Etron driver 1.0.0.104 and since installing that the write speeds have jumped to ~60-75MB/s measured by timing the writing of both single files and multiple files ranging between 600 and 1800MB from start till finish, also the annoying pausing has gone.

    Much happier now :-)

A similar issue for me was that i was having problems with my G15 kb, working intermittently and my Magic jack would not work at all until i updated to the newer drivers as you did.
I do not have any hardware where i would notice a transfer rate increase.

I am using the GIGABYTE GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3

I only use the USB3.0 ports for the External HDD. I have everything else connected to the USB2.0 ports which are controlled by the Z68 chipset. There wouldn't be any advantage using the USB3.0 ports unless of course you have run out of USB2.0 one's.

BTW these are the ATTO benchmarks

There's no change in performance with the new driver - tested using ATTO.
