Unless Chike wants something else, I'd run the Prime95 Blend test overnight.
Please post your comprehensive screen-shot as you did in post #54. The most recent IBT test window is optional.
Unless I hear from my guy soon, it looks like you'll take the lead.
First one to hit 4.50GHz stable is the winner.

Yes blend test, with 8 minutes limit, hopefully one of them will fail if not we'll try shooting in the dark.

FYI check out AnandTech - Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3P - P45 at its Finest.
Page 6 covers overclocking results for a Q9550 and an E8600.
I don't recommend using their high voltage settings for a 24/7 setup.

AnandTech has an older excellent overclocking guide and it goes into great detail with memory timings and settings:
AnandTech - Overclocking Intel's New 45nm QX9650: The Rules Have Changed, and it's very heavy reading!!

Sounds like great reads, I'll check it out tomorrow when I'm at work, been reading a lot of AnandTech lately.

Per this comment, I ran another IBT test before starting blend testing. My next post will be the blend test results with the full display of monitoring software.

EDIT: Woops - forgot the screen shot:

EDIT 2: the first result was due to me using Google Chrome during the first pass.

_ We will have a 13 page overclocking quiz for you tomorrow night to see how much you've learned from the QX9650 article.

    OK, you called my bluff.
The real test is if you really understand the concepts and relationships in the article, your system will be fully stable above 4.20GHz by Friday evening.

    Happy reading

The more I learn, the more I realize how much I don't know.
Every time I learn the answer to a question, several new questions come to mind.

BTW, you are NOT allowed to ask me how long it takes for me get a new system running close to it's maximum possible overclock.
