Maybe 2 clicks higher vcore. How temps are?
If you back vcore would it fail memtest86+ test #5?

EDIT: check the settings of aL2000, IDK if he could do with lower values but his vcore for 4GHz match yours for 4.25GHz and much higher VTT and MCH Core.

Cpu Termination is abbreviated VTT, not VVT.

BSOD 0x124 usually means that Cpu Vcore is too low and possibly VTT too.
Ignoring your first IBT result, a "normal, good" spread in GFlops is less than about 0.04 - 0.06.
Your system might pass all stability tests when this spread is somewhat higher.
Even if the spread is within optimal limits, this does NOT mean that your system will pass other stress tests.

At some point while overclocking, it is normal to find that you "suddenly" need much higher cpu vcore settings for your system to be bootable and stable. This varies widely from system to system, even with identical hardware.

After booting, my system usually requires about 12 minutes up-time for Task Manager threads and processes to settle to their normal level. It only takes a short time for cpu % usage to drop to normal low levels, but there is still a bunch of "extra" background tasks running.

Understood guys, thanks. I clicked down VVT (heheh) and it did not fail Memtest, IBT was as follows:

I will try up'ing VCore now and run IBT again.

For Deafty's benifit, what is your maximum SYSTEM temperature when running IBT and Prime95?

**edit** Your thread's VIEW count is 700 less than Deafty's thread.
You started your thread 6 days ago, Deafty started his thread on 02-15-2010 ;)
I guess that makes him a half-fast overclocker ;o [snicker]

    ^lol

Sorry - I forgot to post system temp for you guys yesterday. Here is IBT test with VCore up to 1.33125, will see what happens with another click up as per earlier instructions.

Here is with VCore 1.33750 - looks like the best spread yet so far.

Thanks for posting your SYSTEM temps.
Yup, IBT GFlops spread is better.
    Is Prime95 stress test next?

Here is IBT with VCore 1.34375

    <img src = http://img849.imageshack.us/img849/2073/ibt.png>

Looks like the previous one (VCore 1.33750) was the most consistent so I'll click it back down one.

No problem. Actually, I was thinking of going for more FSB...
Unless you guys think doing a thorough stability check first at these settings would be better.

Don't get too hung up with the IBT GFlops spread. From my experience, a reasonably close spread is a good indicator that extended Prime95 stress tests MIGHT be stable.
You've come a long way in a short time. When was the last time you ran each of the three Prime95 tests?
Overclocking more is possible, but I think that this would be a good time to perform the following tests:
    • Prime95 Blend: 3 - 6 hours or longer
    • Prime95 Small FFT: 2 - 4 hours
    • Prime95 Large FFT: 2 - 4 hours
I've seen too many cases where IBT or Linux ran error free, but Prime95 would fail, sometimes after several hours, and sometimes it would fail within one hour.

A more rigorous test would be to run each test for 8 - 12 hours, but I usually perform these longer tests once I'm close to my desired o/c goal.

I'm going out until this evening and will check back on your progress when I return. I'll be here for about 30 more minutes.

    I had set 478 x 9.0 x 956 with VCore @ 1.34375

    IBT:

Thanks , but couldn't have done it without you and Chike's excellent help.

I have some company over now, so it's a good time to start this on multiple fronts then (I'll switch back to 4.25 Ghz). Thank you both again for your help. It's been really fun so far

Will check in later with the results.
