Thanks , but couldn't have done it without and Chike's excellent help.
LOL, I think you used invisible ink for my name
(I'll switch back to 3.25 Ghz).
    That's one hellofva step backwards
Glad to help out, keep up the good work.

Lol, I noticed that just before I saw this thread (fixed). So far first blend tests have been successful. Going to leave it alone for awhile now.

EDIT: (This is what happens when you're trying to keep friends entertained while trying to work on your OC obsession ).

Over 2 hours into 8-minute blend tests now. I'm going to run 24 minutes of short FFT and then 20 minutes of long FFT and call this build "mostly stable" for now. More testing is, of course, required to call it fully stable, but it's not my final OC goal.

One thing of note is that "worker 1" running about 2 minutes ahead of its lazy coworker.

I recall they ran into this in the anandtech article but that their investigation into it was inconclusive.

EDIT: They were, however, able to get around it:

"Further testing reveals we have some level of control with regards to the "throttling" - it seems that by slightly lowering the VID, and thus in turn the CPU supply voltage, we are able to complete testing at some of the same frequencies with no noticeable performance degradation issues."

Did you try CPU PLL 1.57?
I would sacrifice 0.3GFlops for the 10c increase in core temps.
Prime95 runs in the lowest priority possible, if anything needs CPU it will have a priority over it, so again have minimum applications running, and iif you run HWMonitor you can minimize it.

Sounds good I will change PLL to 1.57. I ran Long FFT for 42 minutes - 0 errors / 0 warnings. What's our next move? I'm ready to call this mostly-stable for now and get a little closer to the goal

Mostly stable :) it's always mostly untill it crash.
Where are we at 4.25Gz still? What's our goal?
5GHz increments I think with memtest86+ #5 and IBT stability then final test when you decide.

Yep, 4.25Ghz. Our goal is to keep going until we hit the final limit

Sounds like a plan, I'll start now.

Oh forgot to include my last IBT after up'ing PLL to 1.57:

Keep in mind that any point of instability that will fail memtest86+ test #5 is an opportunity to tune refernces and clock skews.

    Gotcha.

    Well, that didn't take long
    At 478 x 9 x 556, I got a BSOD loading windows. This took place after I ran several passes of Memtest86 Test #5.
