You will probably find that about 458 - 460MHz is the highest that you can go with the 2.40B System Memory Multiplier.
With higher speeds, you will probably need to switch to the 2.00B or 2.00D memory multipliers.
OK, I'm now back on the sidelines; your doing great with Chike's help.
Ah, perhaps that is what's going on here. What's the technical difference between B and D? I will try that now. Chike is definitely "coach" haha, but I appreciate all the input I can get! Thank you.

The differences between B and D starps are probably some settings we useually don't deal with like rhose below Static tRead Value, and perhaps some that are not in BIOS at all.
I am not concered yet about the strap because your memory already proved to be capable of DDR-1112 which will allow 3.15GHz with 463x9, 2.40B. If we go higher then you will need to use one of 2.00D or 2.00B multipliers.

Strangely, it wouldn't boot when changing the memory to 2.00 (tried both B and D), would just beep constantly. This was done with the current 3.80 Ghz setting.

I'll leave SMM at 2.40 for now, per your last post Chike. However, I'm not having success getting above 3.80 Ghz, even with the four up-clicks (1.30 Volts) voltage. Should I try five (or more) clicks until it works, or is there perhaps another setting to be modified other than CPU Vcore?

The B-memory strap will have slightly better memory performance up to about 470MHz because tRD (Static tRead Value) can usually be 1 setting lower than the D-memory strap. This all changes at higher speeds where the D-memory strap can be 1 setting lower than the B-strap with speeds higher than ~470MHz. I ran my EP45 for a long time at 492MHz using tRD = 9. Just ask "Kick" about my patented 492MHz settings.

    My Mushkin 2 x 2GB 1066 memory was stable up to 1101MHz, but I ended up using 492 x 2.00D for 984MHz with 5-5-4-12 settings. YMMV.
I think your stock vcore settings are over. I too am amazed at your 3.70GHz settings with stock vcore.

Or I could try doing this, and leaving the vcore still stock. Seems like it may be more likely the issue since even with a significant jump in voltage, I'm not getting it to post.

I forgot to add that MCH Core might need to be higher, possibly up to 1.26.

Any settings above 3.8GHz or just 3.9GHz?
Does it not boot at all or just fails IBT(and how if it is, failure or BSOD)?.
It may be the 3.8GHz are not completely stable and need to begin ore serious tweaking(vcore,VTT,reference voltages)
EDIT: and what profJim said :)

Does not boot at all, I won't even get the usual, single "BEEP". It will just run for about 5 seconds then shut down, and then it'll restart with older, more conservative BIOS settings.

I initially tried it with 3.90, then 3.85.

The last half hour or so, with it still set at 3.85, I began clicking up the voltage until I reached 1.325. Then I saw, on my iPhone, Professor Jim's response.

I clicked up in increments (while still at 1.325 VCore) until I reached 1.26 MCH Core. Still no luck.

Then I began clicking up VCore in increments until I hit 1.3875, and still was unable to get it to boot (same problem as described above every time)

I reverted back to my last good profile (3.80Ghz with stock VCore), and tried changing to 3.82 Ghz. No boot.

I then tried 3.81 Ghz, and it booted. So now I'm at 449 x 8.5 x 1077 with stock VCore, awaiting next mission

FWIW, in the other EP45/E8400 thread, I think (hope?) my guy is testing with 3.825MHz using:
    Code:
    CPU Clock Ratio ---------------- : [9]
CPU Host Frequency (Mhz) ------- : [425] (memory speed will now be 850MHz)

    Static tRead Value ------------- : [8] (for memory channels A and B)

CPU Vcore might need to be one or two clicks higher than your current setting.
    CPU PLL ------------- 1.500V* -- : [1.500] <-- up to 1.57 might be needed
    MCH Core ------------- 1.100V -- : [1.20] <-- 1.22 - 1.26 or slightly higher might be needed
Note: we are using 2.00B with 4-4-4-12 memory timings.

It's possible that tRD = 9 might be needed for both memory channels.
With your higher cpu vcore settings, increasing VTT (CPU Termination) might help.
It's recommended that VTT be set at least 0.05 - 0.10 volts lower than CPU Vcore.
When booting, many fast short beeps often means that tRD is too low or MCH Core is too low.
