AAhhhhh. Okay so at least the full 6gb isnt been undersold, only 1/3 of it is running at single channel. Thank you for elaborating.

Okay. I have no experience overclocking, but if it would save me money and not be too hard, it's worth a shot (as long as there's no real risk to my data).

I'm trying to see if things will crash with 2 sticks only, but i doubt that's the problem.

The BIOS post screen (if you disable the logo) should have a message like "^GB memory in Flex mode" which is a mix of doaul and single channel modes.

what qpi/vtt voltage are you using? i agree stick with current ram, just two sticks in dual channel should run fine, could try and buy a single stick of the same ram to make 8gb total? what chip you have? tested with built in igpu? to rule out graphic card fault

should look like this with two sticks of ram installed

I plan to test with onboard GPU once I have eliminated RAM as the problem.

    As to your others questions:

qpi/vtt voltage: No idea, how do i check this.

    CPU (chip): Core i5

It looks ok, do you have the two sticks installed in the same color slots?

i agree ram settings look fine,i have asus h55 with i3 540,look in easytune/advanced/voltage1 to see qpi/vtt voltage look at target voltage

    THANK YOU Chike and Wazza.

Wazza: I will check those values when i get home from work today, thank you for guidance.

Chike: I have them installed in Slot 2 and Slot 4. Slot 1 is partially blocked by my cpu heatsink. Maybe I have them reversed, I am counting slots like this (lol sorry I dont have photoshop at work):

thats right, white slots for two sticks, and all slots for four sticks of ram,is it stable now? my mb's running stock clocks with 1.0000v cpu voltage,1.25000v qpi/vtt voltage and dram is set to 1.66v everything else is left on auto apart from ram timings and speed so thats a good rough guide of where things should be for stock

It`s been running stable for a day... not yet long enough to prove that RAM is the culprit.
I will check the voltages tonight. Why is my dram number so low? Does that number basically show half of what the speed of the ram is? I'm confused by that number in CPUz.

Precisely. The number is RAM clock frequency. Being DDR(Double Data Rate) RAM it transfers data twice the frequency of it's clock.
