Well CRAPPPPP!!!!!! I got the thing to install Windows in AHCI mode all the way until it was time to type in the Windows XP License Code and it now pops up saying my code in invalid!!!! I think it's because I slipstreamed in SP3!!! If no one has any ideas I'm gonna have to create a new slipstream CD using only my original SP1 Disc!!

    CRAP! CRAP!! and triple CRAP!!!!

An OS that came out 11 years ago(?) before neither SSDs nor Dual cores came out, and require a floppy for instalation.
What is the point fighting instaling it in AHCI mode on SSD without a floppy?

I know how you feel when you a trying to battle what feels like defeat but some times the battle is not worth it. By all means keep try, Its always good to try things out for your self to learn or even to prove everyone wrong. I wish you the best of luck either way you go.

AAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! ! It worked!!! It finally worked!!! I'm ready for the men in white coats but I got it to work!!

On a more serious note, holy BS batman! I had to actually use another XP 32 bit computer rather than my Win7 64bit computer to create my slipstream, blend in the drivers and SP3 and create the ISO. Ask me tomorrow how I did it I won't be able to tell you but I'm typing this out on my new install. I'm hoping the disk will work on my other computer but it'll probably be my luck that the other 2 XP professional keys I have will be from the wrong series... but I got it to work for this one.

I think also I not only had to add a txtmode AHCI driver but I believe it also required a Intel PNP inf file array that I located by reading the nLite install directions as well as driver files that were included by adding SP3.

Now that it's working I'll probably start a new thread about a couple of EP45-UD3P features I'd like to explore. I'll ask them here first in case either Acebmxer or Chike want to answer(or anyone else)

First as mentioned above, is there any benefit or extra capability to install the Gigabyte AHCI drivers for the boards GSATA ports and run my hard drives from there.

2nd, has anyone been successful in running the 2 LAN ports in TEAMing mode? I tried it when I first got the board 3 years ago but I never was able to get it to work.

    Thanks for all the help

You are more then welcome to continue to use this thread for more questions or start another thread either way up to you.

Glad you got everything working now.

They says the intel ports are faster and/or more stable then the gigabyte gsata ports. Which ever ports you use I would suggest installing the drivers for those ports. Dont use Microsoft's drivers.

I have used Teaming for the lan. But you have to make sure your router/switch supports 802.3 ad link aggression i believe its called. If not I dont think it will fully work.
