Default Gigabyte GA-EP43-DS3 (F7) Not Booting

Hello one and all, i do hope someone very smart may be able to help me here..

I went to turn on my computer, and well, nothing... There's power to the fans, DVD light keeps going on and off, noticed that the 4 LED's on the MB were 2 Green, 1 Amber & 1 Red.

Does not sound like the HDD's are firing up either, nothings posting onto my monitor, very new and trying to diagnose problems with computers, so have come here for some expert advice.

Have tried 1 Ram Stick at a time, and still nothing.

Can anyone please help me :)

    Lee

P.S Just to let you know, my computer has been working fine for months, i always shut down my machine every night, just went to turn it on one evening, and nothing :(

Start by disconnecting everything from system. Only boot with Video card and 1 stick of ram. No hdd, no cd/dvd, no usb devices only keyboard and/or mouse.

See if the system starts. If not try clearing cmos via jumper. First try 1-2 min with the jumper installed. If nothing try up to 20 min may need up to 24hrs. Also try removing the battery from the motherboard.

If you have another video card you can use try that or try this card in another system.

If it is indeed the mobo that is knackered... what one could i get that i would not have to replace the RAM & CPU?

    Would the GA-EP43-DS3L be ok?

You should be fine with just about any p43 or p45 chip set. As long as it has a socket 775 and ddr2 slots.

I'd stay away from boards that had only one revision and their last BIOS update is a beta from 2009.

First of all I suggest to check the reason for the problem, maybe the graphic card need to be re-seated, or the ram.
Second, check if you still have warrenty for the board. GB board has 3 years warrenty begin from manufacturing.
The first 4 digits of the serial number are the manufacturing date represented as YYWW(year/week).

LGA 775 motherboards are not widely available today, what do you have available?

OK, update, have stripped the machine down, reseated the Graphics card, and the Ram (1 stick at a time, then 2 sticks at a time)

Checked the serial number and it's out of warranty.
