Default New HTPC Build -- HDMI connection turns "snowy" like old analog tv

Completed my HTPC build with a GA-Z68MX-UD2H-B3 with an Intel i3-2120 (Sandy Bridge) and had tested the build for 3 weeks on a DVI monitor.

Then I took it upstairs to hook up to my Samsung 850 -- everything worked great when I plugged it into the spare 4th HDMI port but while working in WMC the screen turned completely snowy with no sound -- looking like an old analog TV that was turned to a channel without a station.

If I completely unplug the HTPC and hook it up to my DVI monitor then everything works great again. Then when I move it to my Samsung (HDMI) something will set it off again and I'm back to the snowy picture.

It doesn't matter which HDMI port I plug the HTPC into -- same result. BTW: my old HTPC a REVO 3600 works fine in any HDMI port on the Samsung.

have you tested with other hdmi cables? same result? using latest intel gpu drivers? and bios? could test with c1e and c3/c6 disabled in advanced cpu features in the bios,if no effect then re enable them

I've tested with 3 different HDMI cables including the one that works with the AR3600.

Loaded the latest drivers last night and it made no difference.

This evening I loaded the latest BIOS F12 -- it sort of made a difference. Now when I turn the HTPC on the screen goes snowy then 2 out of 3 times a couple minutes later I'll get the desktop. Twice I was then able to switch HDMI inputs (the Samsung has 4 inputs) via the remote and then switch back to the HTPC then the 3rd time I did it when I switched back screen was snowy.

This has me stumped.I'll try with the c1e and c3/c6 disabled and see what happens.

does it only do it in wmc? or all the time in desktop/boot up ect,if only in wmc look in the settings and set up your flat panel tv it might help

anything in the bios that lets you configure hdmi output?i think hdmi only supprts upto 1920x1080p any higher and it might give problems not 100% sure on that though

it could also be not enough igpu voltage?

What is your current screen resolution?
Have you tried using a lower screen resolution with your media center system?
Can you test using the DVI output with a DVI to HDMI adapter connected to your Samsung?

I updated to the latest BIOS and all the latest drivers. The system was more stable but it would still go snowy if I did multiple switching of the HDMI inputs (from #2 the HTPC to #1 Cable TV or #3 Play Station 3 or #4 where I had moved my old HTPC ACER AR3610) selecting different inputs would cause the Z68MX-UD2H-B3 to go snowy. I'd also get the snowy display on some restarts.

So, I removed the battery for 24 hrs. while it seemed more stable it still would give me a snowy disply with switching the HDMI input. also on some restarts it would start to occure after some time -- sometimes snow during post -- sometimes during OS boot -- sometimes both. I could clean the display sometimes by turning the samsung 850 off/on or pushing the hard reset on the Z68MX-UD2H-B3.

I had been trying a lot of things with this machine so I thought it best to completly do a clean install. I deleted the drive and reinstalled Windows 7 64b SP1 and only installed the very minimum of newest drivers.

System seemed to work well afterwards but then I started getting the snowy pictures again.
