    try 21x200 bclk = 4.2ghz
set system performance enhance to standard
set cpu clock drive to 800mv
set pci expres clock drive to 900mv
set spd memory multiplier manually to give you 1600mhz ram speed(im asuming you have 1600 mhz ram?)
    set uncore freq to 17x
try with around 1.35v for both qpi/vtt and cpu voltage

yeap ram is 1600.. did the above , but in order to be stable i had to disable also HT and push qpi/vtt voltage to around 1.40 and keep vcore 1.35

i was getting 124 BSOD codes and i think that it was the qpi voltage not the vcore.

I will upgrade my h60 to h100 tommorow and try to stabilize 4.2 and aim for 24x7 4.4

how can i go there? should i try tio increase bclk or increase multi?

I ment to comment earlier about the bosd error 0x3b hat was is fore vcore, and error 124 that is qpi/vtt not enough or too much.

If you have not already take a look at the link in my sig for bsod error codes and their correction.

Dont be affraid of qpi/vtt voltage I would say try to keep it under 1.45v for 24/7 use. Depending on ram speed/timings and bclk you may need up 1.6v see here http://forums.tweaktown.com/gigabyte...tml#post312297.

Main thing is to keep a eye on the core temps, try to keep then at or around 80c at full load for 24/7 use.

As far as pushing it far there I would keep HT disabled anything over 4.0-4.2ghz it just adds too much extra heat. You could/should be able to push 215 bclk easy. But your cpu does use 23,25x cpu multi it would just need more vcore.

buy some good quality thermal paste aswell, like tuniq mx2 or tx3

depends on your chip too,i have one that needs alot of voltage for 4.2ghz,but the chip in my sig only needs 1.26v for 4.2ghz,aslong as you can keep temps down then high voltage doesnt really matter, its up to you whether you want to use high cpu multi or not, just test and find the best combo for you regarding stability, theres no real right/wrong in choosing high bclk/low multi or vice versa

Thanks, these settings worked great for me. Lowered vcore a bit, to 1.3375mv (1.312 w/ vdroop in CPUZ). Idles at 34-39c; 68c at full load. Seems stable in games, I ran a Prime 95 blend test for a while and passed 2-3 very high-stress tests in Intel Burn... no issues whatsoever!

I'm gonna be upgrading my ram to 12gbs and migrate my OS to a ssd this week. When Kepler launches I'm gonna buy a hydrocopper 680(?) too. That should keep me tight for another year.

Question: Could anyone tell me if a MCR220 rad and MCP655-P pump, with great airflow and cool ambient temps would support a single cpu-gpu loop? Or would I need 2 seperate loops?

    Cheers,

remember you will need more qpi/vtt with 12gb of ram,do you really need that much? as for ssd which one are you thinking of buying? as there are two types that use different nand memory, ones good and one gives poorer results when drives half full

Hmmmm, good points. I'm moving to 12gbs of ram because although I have my 1gb 460 SLI overclocked to 825 processor clock and 1950 memory, I find BF3 struggles somewhat on very high settings with the gpu vram limit of 1gb. I wanted to have more system ram available to help out until I get my new video card(s). I like having lotsa ram too! :) What do you think I'd need to raise my qpi/vtt to to handle 12gbs of ram? I'm getting the same brand as I have now at 6gbs, and my current timings are 8-8-8-24 2T @ 1.64v (xmp = off in bios)

This is the ssd I'm getting: Patriot PP240GS25SSDR Pyro 2.5" Solid State Drive - 240GB, SATA III 6Gb/s. It has a Sandforce processor and 550/515 read/write speeds and has had some great reviews. As you know the x58a-ud3r has a 6gb/s sata port, so I want to take advantage of that. All I'm going to migrate to it are the OS and maybe 3-4 of the games I play most often, the rest I'll leave on my velociraptor hdd. After all is said and done, I estimate I'll have less than75-100gbs on the 240gb drive. I'm going to use the Paragon hdd-->ssd migration tool. Think that'll be ok?

    Thanks!

i dont know if that ssd uses superior synchronous nand memory or asynchronous which isnt as good, plus your mb will have the first version of the marvell controller which will give you poor sata3 performance, might be even less performance than intel sata2,however you can still buy a sata3 ssd it will work fine on sata2 ports and just wont be as fast as the newer marvell or the top dog intel sata3 ports found on newer mb's,if you did use the sata3 on that board

as for qpi/vtt idk it all depends on your chip and oc,i was needing 1.3750v at stock clocks with 12gb of ram

I'm thinking I might flash my bios to the newest beta version or the F6 before installing the extra memory and ssd. The Sata III ssd I'm getting is backwards compatible so I'm covered if I need to us the Sata II port. I'll update later this week with my success/failure.

    Thanks for help! :)
