    Final thoughts,
Any adds on cards in the market (not expensive) supporting Intel sata 3.
You posted;"you might need the new Intel raid rom adding to your current bios? not sure but a few users on here know how to modify the bios to include it"
any idea who my do that and after modification that will enable me to use Intel ports as sata3?
Last question: the tests I posted is the most I can get from my motherboard or I need different setup?
    Thanks
    Adam

What version of the motherboard do you have? GA-X58A-UD3R - F8b
    GA-X58A-UD3R (2.0) - FH5

Let me know and I can do the bios mod for you.

I have looked my self for a true sata3 card and there are not many out there that dont use the marvell controller. So for true sata3 only "Real Way" to get sata3 is with the new p68/z68 boards.

    Acebmxer,Thanks alot
My mboard are: GA-X58A-UD3R (2.0) FF for now.
After tweaking will be safe (won't kill my board)
Did I gain some mb/s after?
    Thanks

Which bios would you like modified bios FF or the Fh5 that I posted? I would recommend using the latest version bios as it will also could have updated sata3 firmware in it. (not something I can modify)

The mod that I would be doing will just update the intel raid rom which is for the sata2 ports. As for any speed gains I doubt you would see any, maybe little. would not hurt to try.

No It should not hurt your board at all. But with anything that has be modified there are always a risk. I have had no issues with my bios mods but you should read up on how to recover from a bad bios flash in case something does go wrong.

If the flash goes ok and for what ever reason you dont like the changes you just flash back to the unmodified bios.

    Please do the latest bios.
last question, what is the reason we will be updating the rom for Intel sata2 ports (what that will help if not for speed?)
Thanks for your time and help!

I'm guessing it will improve compatibility with ssd drives and reliability, would say it would improve read/write figures too,but not 100% sure untill you test it

I'm just trying to flash but the size of the file is over 2 mb and the motherboard is looking for 1mb size file only.
Also I log on gigabyte site and FF flash is about 1mb large.
Please tell me how to flash it with q-flash

    Dear Sir,

Our DCS3A card is followed SATA III spec. speed.

    Note:
As we know,DCS3A card is only provided with our Intel P67/H67 motherboards which using Intel previous B2 Chipset,
never sell it in the market separately, just wonder where you get this card.

This is the response from biostar support.
It means it should be fine ??............

it will work but if it has marvell controller for the sata3 then it wont be as quick as intel sata3 controlled cards or mb/ports,^^ that quote doesnt mention whether they are using the marvell controller as its a add in card

in other words it wont be any better than the sata3 ports allready on your mb,unless its intel sata3 controller
