Looking to overclock, and not sure if the Transcend will be okay.
The DHX's were really cheap on sale for Christmas from a local computer shop.

And my soundcard is sort of blocking 2 DIMMs. I can still plug in 4 RAM sticks, but the ones blocked by the soundcard might come loose so I'd rather not.
Don't think I'd need more than 4gb anyway.

They will be fine, what CPU cooler do you have?

Noctua C12P SE14 with my Q6600, but I had to take it out to test something. Will be putting it back on later, but I don't need it for a while cause I won't be gaming or anything yet.

Any way I could get the XMS2 DHX's running though?

What did you hope to gain by running 4GB of Corsair ram when your 4 or 6GB "generic" ram ran fine?

Let's do a brief Prime95 stress test using your generic ram. Run the Prime95 Blend test for at least 4 hours, or do an overnight test. Longner is better. This is to ensure that your system is stable, even though it sounds like your system hasn't given you problems.

Make sure that Round Off Checking is enabled before you start the test. The attached picture shows that round off checking is enabled.
Download the freeware Prime95 64-bit version from Free Software - GIMPS. You don't have to join Gimps to use Prime95. Click on the Prime95 Tutorial in my signature for more information. If there is even one Prime95 error, post a screen-shot of the Prime95 window. This might help us diagnose any problems. With your Noctua cpu cooler, your core temperatures shouldn't exceed 50o - 55o (C).

Keep in mind that some memory modules have compatibility issues with some motherboards.
I'm not ready yet to give up on your Corsair memory.

Feel free to also run Prime95 on each Corsair memory module individually. I suggest testing the first module alone in memory slot #1 and the second module alone in memory slot #3.

    Any questions?
