Looks like the F8 bios has a problem. Care to give F9 or F10 a try?
I'm not familiar with AMD setups so I can't help with suggested bios settings.
Did you check with the U.K. Official Gigabyte site to see if they have an F12B bios for you motherboard that you can download?

I lied...it booted once...from the flash...and by boot I mean bringing up the LiveCD...the first time and that was with Optimized settings...so I rebooted with Virtualization on and it didn't come up...recognized the flash...turned Virtualization off and it still won't come up...did the first time though...I'm flashing F10 now...

F10 does NOT recognize the flash drive....

    Stay tuned for breaking news!

For clarity, include the mobo version number and the bios version so that you don't confuse us with the facts ;)

Right now I am working on the rev 1.3 board...F8 saw the flash drive after being set to optimized post flash...F10 did not...I am downloading a "fresh" copy of F12A will extract it and try again... sometimes weird stuff happens and I am not trying to win a Nobel Proze but only to get this thing to boot from flash...

It looks like you'll need to test usb booting with Virtualization Disabled and Enabled for each bios version.

Agreed...wish I could duplicate that first F8 post Optimum boot which had Virtualization off....it came up that first time but never again...I may have to play with it to find the magic combination that works...at least I hope it exists...

F8 might always boot from the usb as long as Virtualization is disabled.
It might be that once Virtualization is enabled, it may not boot from the usb even after you disable Virtualization.
Take good notes, it might help GB tech support duplicate your problem.
Over and out for now, I'll check back later tonight.
