    Wazza, my voltages:

    CPU: 1.13125V
    DRAM: 1.5
    QPI/VTT: 1.2

I used Driver Sweeper when I installed the graphics driver I have now for the GTX 480. Cleaned out the 285.62 driver with Driver Sweeper and installed 275.33. Things improved, but latency was still an issue. However, the stability of my system as a whole is being called into question more seriously by the stress tests Acebmxr suggested.

    Acebmxr,

I get error code STOP: 0x0000007F

Could updating my BIOS help any of this? If so, what version would you suggest? You mention that jumping from an older version to the current can be problematic. Is it wiser to upgrade incrementally?

Is this the best place to learn about that:

    http://forums.tweaktown.com/gigabyte...ash-guide.html

    ?

I haven't dealt with this before. Any way to confirm it WILL be fine flashing the BIOS you recommend here, which seems to be F8B, rather than it "should" be fine? Does a BIOS upgrade address the issues I'm having with stress tests giving me the BSoD, the random restarts, sleep mode, and latency? How risky is it?

    Thanks!

it will be safe to update the bios, you need to use the latest version of @bios,this also updates qflash then you can use qflash and a memory stick for future bios's,i dont know what fixes bios's contain but generally it improves stability ssd and memory compatibility ect plus other things, you can flash back and forth to any bios version without issue

that bios is the latest one for your mb,tweaktown gets the latest beta bios containing all the newest fixes months before they appear on gigabytes website

Yes we always suggest using q-flash. But the thing is at one point gigabyte increased the file size of the bios file from 1mb to 2mb. q-flash does not like when a bios file size is larger then whats on your motherboard. So for the time only use @bios to flash. Once you have flash to a bios that is a file size of 2mb you can continue to use q-flash. if you want to drop back down to a bios with a file size of 1mb from a bios that is 2mb you will need to use @bios again to flash the older bios.

yes that applies in general, but the newer bios's are 2mb+ due to adding in 3tb hdd compatibility ect,so for a one off time you have to use the very latest @bios software then once youve flashed the newer 2mb bios you can go back to use qflash, qflash wont support the larger bios file until its updated with qflash

just for the record ive used @bios lots of times all different versions without issue (touch wood) its not a failsafe option by any means but it is only a one off use, then i would advise to use qflash as its dos based and not windows based

With both of you confirming the approach I feel confident going ahead. I am looking for the latest version of @BIOS now. It seems I have version 2.12 from my original Gigabyte disk. I downloaded the "latest" @BIOS utility from here:

    @BIOS

Extracted as a folder containing a setup.exe that acts as a repair, modify, or remove Install Wizard. How can I be sure I have the current @BIOS? Are the steps provided by the page listed above reliable?

remove it first, this will remove the older version if you already have it installed, then click exe again and install, then when updating bios point it to the bios file you have saved on your pc
