    Thanks for the better explanation. As far as a working raid/sata card out of the box with gigabyte motherboards, I am not sure on.

    As for those other cards they were ones I was just "day dreaming" about. Maybe other users here might chime in to what they are using?

    The only other thing I would have recommended before shipping the card back, would have been to contact gigabyte and see if they could possible add compatibility for that card into the bios.

    Which brings up another thought. Try to contact them asking them which cards they have test with that motherboard.
