    Yes I know VTT feeds the IMC & caches, aids BCLK etc. But doesn't change the fact the VTT currently set is going beyond it's "limits" which of that limit already being "too high". Now if it was his answer to stability then maybe it would be a little different as a clean stable clock(s) signal > an unstable one as a gratefully unstable system overtime even with safe temps and volts is said to impact life of components (which makes sense). Im sure 1.36v VTT highly stable (100+ runs of linpack) would on average be healthier for the system than 1.32v being 30 minute Prime95 "stable" then BSOD/failing after 30 mins as some people like to do, again each to their own.. Yes I did see that thread and Lsdmeasap's comments in it.

    Overclocking on its own is borderline of "violating spec" when no voltages are touched or when all are within limits, its really voltage that does everything, as we all know 1.9v of anything long term for current systems is damaging and only done on LN2 for short times, even at the safe temps. Heat on it's own doesn't do much for damage (stability is something else yes) unless you're running it at like 1c from TJ max for all it's life or something, then again heat comes from voltage anyway much more than it does from sheer MHz/GHz. If overclocking was in its own, already a spec violation or lifespan reducer then a i7 930 and the rest of them would be "out of spec" compared to the 920 as they are "overclocked". But I will not argue anything as thats already been done over the years, and im sure you all been in or read giant debates about this stuff, massive flame wars. Im just saying the thread author should consider other options and reduce VTT as the increases that have been done to it by recommendation are not yielding any difference in his overclock stability, something is making it "tick" and VTT isn't it. The thread I linked was primarily for the apparent overvolt with VTT and CPU PLL and to adjust accordingly, aka 1.8v CPU PLL people think is stock is really 1.88v, .01v from absolute max already. This is assuming the X58/X58A lineup use the same voltage regulators which I bet they do.

    k1llah3rtz did you try what I said with the round trip latency setting? Along side that I recommend/would try the following:

    -Increase CPU PLL to 1.70v or 1.80v (unless you see CLEAR evidence that alone makes you more stable as 1.50v)
    -Reduce VTT to 1.32v/1.33v
    -Reduce RAM multi to x6 (the following uncore multi drop will relax it and VTT greatly, helping rule that out as being of any issue)
    -Reduce uncore multi to x12 or x13
    -CPU Skew to 150ps**
    -IOH Skew to 50ps**
    -CPU clock drive to 1000mV (this is NOT a separate voltage and will not do any harm)

    **You might want to try these 2 settings separate from the rest, aka once with your current settings and again with the above changes I recommended. With a older bios I had CLEAR evidence those skews were what I needed as I replicated the result with and without them over 5 times back to back, with modern bioses (for my board) they don't seem to be needed with my current settings.

    I also thought you re-enabled HT? It is off in your latest CPU-Z screenshot. How is your system with the x20 multiplier in use, have you tried it? I could tell you my sig system settings if you would want, but with the current results of your system I see it having beyond a hard time keeping up but if you want to try it then say so..

    As per GiggaBytes comments, I've reset everything to default so that I can correctly identify the baselines for my Board and Proc.

    So where are you at with this now? Starting back at defaults? Are defaults 100% stable?

    Some times its just needed to wipe the slate clean and start again.

    Not sure if I posted this link or not but here you go x58 i7 Voltage Guide [stickey please]. This has helped me out when stress testing with LinX.

    When starting with defaults its best to set voltages manually and test and lower voltages while still maintaining stability. Once stable at default start bumping up the bclk and adding voltage when needed.
