about the memory clock.. i thought tighter timings were better than faster clocks...

Not at all. Timings set as clock cycles are relative to the clock.
    9-9-9-24 at 1866 ar a bit better than 6-6-6-19 at 1200 (1200 / 1866 x 9 = 5.7).
However faster clock will put more stress on the IMC and will require more QPI/VTT

lol, so i reckon i'll leave at 1200 for now considering my temps, but get brave later on though.

So the real question is, should I try and tighten the voltages anymore....

got a 0x124 at cold boot this morning, but was fine on 2nd boot..... normal or odd?

    QPI: x16 // 3600
    QPI/VTT: 1.3v
    RamClk: x8
    Ram: 1600
    Timings (Manual): 8-8-8-24-2T

    Will now start testing.

I thought 1.220 qpi/vtt was too low even for low memory speeds. It also looked like OCCT was not stressing your ram out while it was stressing the cpu.

About ram speed and tighter timings. Yes you were correct tighter timings are better only if thats the fastest you can push your ram.

You dont really see speed from faster ram its more from the uncore. Just remember to keep uncore 2x or 2x+1, 2x+2 ram multi.

If running x6 memory keep uncore 12-14x.

I would suggest using LinX or IBT so it will stress everything out.

0x3B during IBT, so have increased dvid to 0.093v and we're away. will now try lowering qpi/vtt from 1.3v down to see if we can get it any tighter.

Still not stressing out all your ram. SS only shows 1gb of ram being used. Set to max and test again. In install the indego?

Might also suggest booting windows into diagnostic mod and should be able to stress 5gb of ram.
