Default EP45-UD3P enable ACHI after Win7 install

I am at a loss because reg. hack does not work (set to 0, etc)
    My specs are in sig.
Only way back into windows is to re-boot with bios defaults.
If anyone can help with a step by step or any help (when do rst drivers get installed, is a bios update needed (F10)? I have saved a system image if reinstall is only option after 3 days of trying.
    ssd is sata 0
    hdd is sata 1
optical drives are sata 2 and 3

    Thank you

you followed this guide to the letter? should work fine, ive done it this way many times

    1.Exit all Windows-based programs.
2.Click Start, type regedit in the Start Search box, and then press ENTER.
3.If you receive the User Account Control dialog box, click Continue.
4.Locate and then click the following registry subkey:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESystemCurrentControlSetServicesM sahci

5.In the right pane, right-click Start in the Name column, and then click Modify.
6.In the Value data box, type 0, and then click OK.
7.On the File menu, click Exit to close Registry Editor.

After this you’ll have to restart your computer, go to BIOS and enable AHCI. When you log in to Windows again, you’ll notice the installation of drivers for AHCI. Another restart will be required to finish the driver installation

you can download the reg file and click it,then it will enable ahci for you without doing the above guide just click this link

    http://cdn.ithinkdiff.com/wp-content...09/05/ahci.reg

ahci drivers get installed the minute you reboot into ahci mode, then later download and install the rst storage drivers from gigabytes website

You can disable the onboard SATA/IDE controller if there is nothing connected to it.
You may need to install a newer beta BIOS

Thanks, I'll try to find one.
The F11 beta's had to do with sandforce controllers which mine doesn't use.
It wouldn't matter that the ssd is a sata II and not a sata III?
