Glad to hear you found the problem. Temps look alot better also. Those intel coolers can be a pita. I thought I was gonna break my P45-ud3p when I trying to put the cooler on, the pins kept popping back up.

Let us know when you get the new cooler on there.

Ya, new cooler will help a lot! Intel stock cooler is barely good enough to run stock speeds at reasonable temps, especially now that they don't use that large copper core they used to use.

What cooler did you order, or are you still looking?

Yeah...That things was a bit of a PITA when I was messing w/ it...I was real close to pulling the mobo out to make sure they went in there correctly, but it worked out...

now to decide on a good cooler...isn't gonna be as quick a process as I thought...but I can see I most certainly need one...I don't trust that intel fan anymore...

I'm a water cooling guy myself, so I wont chime in on a cooler, but I'm sure the fellas here will help you pick out a nice one (If you want help that is)!

Just let them know your ideal price range and I'm sure you'll get plenty of suggestions!

I tossed around the idea of water cooling (prolly something I'll do at a later date, when I get bored w/ the set-up I have). I ended up buying the Prolimatech Megahalems & 2x Cooler Master R4-L2S-122B-GP. A lot more cooler than I need at this time, but after messing around w/ this stuff the last few days, and knowing this crew is around, I'll be more likely to OC this thing at some point (which was the reason I built the damn thing in the 1st place).

Gonna have to take off the mobo to get damn thing installed, but what can ya do? I'll do some pre & post analysis w/ the mega on there to see how much diff it makes on a stock set-up.

Nice, I hear they make some very good cooler so I'm sure it will work great for you!

Look forward to your testing and results, and eventual overclocking too! Good luck with the install once it arrives!

so good CPU coolers doooo make a difference. I didn't run prime95 or anything, but below is a shot of my sys after a few hours of screwing around on my game...this same load would run my sys up to high 60's, low 70's even AFTER you guys help me determine my Intel CPU fan wasn't seated correctly.

I'm very happy w/ the temps now...may be time for me to OC this thing a little. Thanks again for the assist folks!

PS: Can I tell you how happy I am with my case? I did not have to remove the mobo to install the fan...whew! That was one PITA I wasn't looking forward to dealing with...The Mega fit great w/ this mobo set up. covers, but clears the mem module closest to the CPU, and sits right about the NB. Distance between the push fan and the back of the case exhaust fan may not be ideal (~ 1" between them), but it seems to work.

Yep...I was pretty happy to see (cuz I didn't remember if there was or not) the cut out...Made the entire installation process much easier...I incl a pic of hte cut out, and what it looks like inside the case. You can see how it sits over that mem bank closest to the CPU. I'd have some wrasslin' to do if I wanted to swap that out...But I'm happy w/ it, so I'm not too worried about it ATM.

(wish I could do something w/ the power for fans, but those were the only 3-pin headers they would reach [pwr_fan & sys_fan2). And I did rotate that left one so I can't see it with the case door on...it's the little things ).
