Be sure when you burn your install DVD's that you use the slowest setting when you burn the DVD.

It may also help to use only 2GB of memory while you install, and also set SATA mode to IDE.

It could be the USB DVD ROM causing all of the issues, can't you find or borrow an old IDE one, that will work just fine if you can! If you do use an IDE DVD drive be sure you set the jumper correctly (Either Cable Select/CS, or connect the Drive to the end of the cable for master or middle for slave)

Ok. I had burn the disk of win7 ultimate 64 at 1x speed.
    Installation stops at 44%:
Windows cannot install required files.....Error code: 0x80070017
Ps. I tried with 2 cables and 3 dvd roms and they are visible only if in bios its set :
    SATA RAID/AHCI Mode - AHCI
Onboard SATA/IDE Ctrl Mode - AHCI

Set sata to IDE mode. Some OLDer dvd drives have ISSUES working in AHCI mode. Just to see if you can get windows installed.

Dont worry if you need AHCI mode you can always enable it after windows is installed.

Like LSD said also try removing some ram. Maybe one ram stick has gone bad.

Yeap. I was all the time installing with one ram block and finally after whole day I made it and I install win 7. What was wrong:
    - probably original bios what i had has crashed
    - After I download the highest bios that had 1 mb i was having a problem with my dvd rom, why? Link on gigabyte side get me wrong file to download. Instead of FI it download FA that had problems with IDE compatibility. I realized that after whole day, because it didnt show me all primary and secondary devices in bios window.

Right now I am making system image just for safe. I hope that my system will not going to crash. Tomorrow I will connect both drives that was as raid drives and I will try to get my files back if it will be possible. I have a lot of programs for data recovery but I never tried with raid. Some of them can build virtual raid drive, but I dont know witch one. Maybe someone knows which ones are the best?

Glad to hear you finally got Windows installed. Now that windows is installed you can now update the bios to the latest version using @bios. Please make sure you download the latest version of @bios from this site or gigabytes site. Also when updating with @bios please make sure to place a check in the box to clear dmi pool data. Dont forget to load optimized default settings after flashing.

What are you trying to use raid for? Do you want the OS on a raid setup or do you want data on the raid? What kind of raid do you want?

Raid-1 is mirroring, min 2 drives needed. All data is sent to both drives to make a exact image, only 1 drive is seen by as a drive letter ie... drive c:, d:, e:.... If 1 drive fails you are still good to go.

Raid-0 is stripping, min 2 drives. Data is sent to both drives but the data is split in half. This is for speed but no fail safe. only 1 drive is seen by as a drive letter ie... drive c:, d:, e:....

Raid-5 is stripping with parity, min 3 drives. Data is split and sent to 2 of the 3 drives. The third drive contains a parity bit that would be used to recreate the data in the event a drive fails. If you lose 1 drive you are still good to go. Lose 2 and data is gone.

Raid-10 or Raid 0+1, or Raid 1+0 is stripping with mirror, min 4 drives need. One Array has 2 drives stripped, second array mirrors the first array, this is raid 0+1. raid 1+0 is the other way. One array has 2 drives mirrored and the second array strippes the first array with the second. Here you need 2 or more drives to fail to lose your data.

There are 2 kinds of raid, hardware raid or software raid. Hardware raid is controlled by either the bios or a separate raid controller. Software raid is controlled by the OS, and the cpu. Hardware raid will always be better then software raid.

I had install @bios and this is what I get.
When I am downloading bios file from serwer I get: Runtime error! Program c:/program files(x86).... abnormal program termination.
When I am installing from file EX58UD3R.FK1 I get: Can not load ROM image from BIN file. Maybe BIN file size not match.

How I can get through this?

Where did you install @bios from? if its from the cd or a old download, please download the latest one from here http://download.gigabyte.us/FileList...gbt_atbios.exe. I also would recommend download the bios from here http://www.fileden.com/files/2009/12...x58ud3r.k2.zip and updating from disk. This is also a newer bios then Fk1

Nice to hear you got it finally!

RAID is easy to setup, and sounds like you want to use RAID 0.

In case you are not sure, here's what you should set, ect.

Connect the RAID drives to SATAII_0 and SATAII_0 (CD/DVD on the last port SATAII_5 against PCB).

Then set these settings in the BIOS, and you can either load Intel drivers during windows install, or after you are done installing (Windows has default RAID Driver=old version)

    Integrated Peripherals

    Intel Controller (Blue Ports)
eXtreme Hard Drive (Intel ICH10R Chipset) ........................ auto/disabled
ICH SATA Control Mode (Intel ICH10R Chipset) .....................RAID
SATA Port0-3 Native Mode (Intel ICH10R South Bridge) ............. Enabled or Disabled, either will work fine

    Thank You all for help.
I wanted to make raid0 for speed/ mostly for games, but I read that Raid0 is good only to work with big files.
So right now I am thinking about buying ssd for system and hdd for storage. I dont need much space in my computer because I have server in home, where I keep all my stuff.
What do You think about ssd corsair f60 (I can buy it for half price, used, 1 month old) for system + 500gb hdd for storage( or 2hdds 160gb in raid 0)? Is this option will be good. On ssd I will install system and all needed programs and on hdd I will install games. I need around 250gb space on my computer but buying one 250gb ssd Is to much for me.
