    WOW!
Haven't seen this thread in a while, Wassa the board was a no boot with the pin missing. I googled it "CPU SOCKET MISSING PIN", found a kid that had simply used a wire to replace the pin(as it was only one) boom mine worked!! I put a used 2500K in it and even clocked it to 5200Mhz, if i had colder conditions I could have gone higher.

Right now I have a board I'm trying to fix(Z68) with seven traces that are cut, the previous owner tried to RMA it. Asus sent it back with a lil red arrow showing the minuet scratch, almost had them all replaced and my phone rang made my hand shift UGH! So its taking longer than planed. Here's a photo of the board before, by the time I'm done its gonna be ugly but it will live on!
UGH thought I had photos of it but not yet I'll post some up soon........Great thread!

    Thank You!!

As Wassa said it simply will not work, you will have a mess of melted items long before the socket lets go, your not heating the boards correctly @175 no solder will melt let alone reflow. @225 you will be there all day waiting for it to release but it never will, but if its free and you have nothing to lose then i'm sure you will do it.
I'd love to see the photo's of afterwards..........
