    Actually I fixed my board, when I got it had one bent pin. It broke when I tried to fix it, then I remembered reading some one in a forum say he just used a wire and stuck it in the socket. The board wouldn't boot with the pin missing, I found a wire and stuck it in the and boom it booted up and worked fine. I know certain boards will work with one pin missing depending on the pin missing. i have a board I'm currently working on it has a scratch on the trace's 8 of them had been broken. But I wasn't handy enough to just solder over it and bridge it so I started using wire and soldering them in, the traces are so fine and so close. Well needless to say I used to much heat and flux, so the traces started to pull off the board. So some of them I had to bridge, I'll post some photos of it. I'm almost done but it seems every time I get near it, I over work it so I been staying away from it for now.......

    @Vince
    Cool man! Seems like everyone left and when I went back I saw what Pwner had to say so I didn't stay. I been over at Overclockaholic's with Sup's, most of them that left 411 way back when are still members but do not post there. And there is a click from another forum that has been very active, there a friendly bunch of guys. Yeah I was working but not lately, so I haven't really been doing much just trying to find my place. I'm back in NY, great to see you tell everyone hello for me!!!

    yeah that's right,i have one missing pin on my board and it works fine

    it depends on whether its a redundant pin or not as some are reserved for future use ect

    but this other board has two pins missing and it won't bootup at all,ill have to try with some wire but its fiddly when its so small

    Do a socket diagram lookup, you might only need to fix 1 pin... nearly half the socket is VCC and ground.... what are the chances that two pins are for data signals?

    @Jagger: that's cool, send me a PM to that click site if you don't mind sharing. and don't be shy and stop by for yourself... [p] is still gone, just a hand full of us there now doing our own little thing. No more ego's and poop.... that stuff is all gone.
