I am finding that if I go in my bios and just change something and then change it back to its original default setting, the pc will just shut down after rebooting. I am wondering if there is something else starting to go on here. Is it bad to just
go back to my old FA Bios ? Can a non beta bios cause instability issues or do you think the bios chip may have gotten fouled some how--- weird stuff. I guess this issue could be a bad stick of memory or power supply related but it is strange it happened
with this bios update. thanks again for any feed back--rclark

I think I will do this Wazza. To go back to FA that is a 1 mb file vs the current 2mb FH, do I need to use @bios again ?
    thanks --rclark

Yes to go back to a 1mb file bios size you need to use @bios again. Then you can use q-flash again as long as its not to update to a 2mb bios file.

Well I am back to normal and all appears very stable. I flashed back to FA and after loading optimized settings to check stability, I went ahead and put in my fairly modest 3.5 ghz overclock settings and all is running fine. 10 min's of prime95 and
core temps were around 63-66C at the highest. Whew--that was scary but very educational--I did learn how to flash a bios--ha !!!
Thank you so much for such great help--I cannot tell you how nice it is to know you all are around to help---- take care --rclark

Just so you know about this, there will be sometimes when you change certain things in the BIOS the board will fully shut down and restart, other times it will just restart.

That's normal, and it just depends on what you change and how far you change it from default.
