well that answered one of my questions about all of this but i would like the ram to run as it should and does with xmp settings

i did just set it all and got into windows and all worked fine and was just lining up easytune and cpu z to screenshot it and it bsod
that was with 160x23x10 with vcore to 1.45 and qpi/vtt to 1495
so it should be possible and feel im getting close
def something with voltage to something

lol im going to eat biscuits, smoke and shoot people...im getting a headache

thanks tho for the help all day
    much appreciated

What was the last bsod error that you got. Also I was looking back to check some of your last settings posted. Are you tring to run 4.6ghz with HT enabled at 1.4-1.45v? With HT enabled your probably gonna need alot more.

After makeing a few changes here and there you should repost your current full settings Aslo post some pics of cpu-z (run it a couple times so you can show each tab) ET6 Cpu-Tweaker can show you full memory timings in windows.

Edit never mind I see your back down to 3.6ghz -4.0ghz. Please still post full settings with screen shots.

    160x23x10 with vcore to 1.45 and qpi/vtt to 1495

thats too much for that clock imo,it will cause bsod as much as not enough voltage, should clock to 3.6ghz with cpu voltage on its normal setting in cpu voltage list and qpi/vtt around 1.32v-1.35v,try with an even cpu multiplier instead of an odd, some are more stable using one or the other

cheers wazza i will try that
the reason i pushed the voltages as when cpu stock settings and xmp profile1 enabled it shows the qpi using 1.435
at the moment with a 3.6 clock my voltage is 1.24
if i just overclock the cpu it doesnt need much voltage at all to stay stable
i will try that at x24 today tho
and if it dont work you can come down the motorway and do it for me ha

the real problem is getting mem to run on the 10 multi that would give me 1600

You could manually set extra high RTL values, as that is tied to uncore speed and QPI/Vtt value, that would allow you to rule out auto RTL as casing failed boots or issues with QPI/Vtt voltage.

Try setting 57/61/63 and see if it allows you to boot with uncore 20-21 and QPI/Vtt 1.2-1.35. If not, set 61/63/67 and then try again

ok thanks will try that too
    and get back to you

although something i noticed in the bios was that when uncore speed is on auto and mem multi is on 8 then it shows it at the very top page of bios that uncore is running at x20

dont know if that means anything but if we should manually set them to double the mem speed but on auto it is setting it at that according to the top page of bios

ok i tried a few things today and have been in windows a few times with my desired settings
my guess is ive messed the memory timings up somewhere
can i set these to default and start again somehow?
surely if this ram is running at 1600 it would be set at 2T command?with 9 9 9 28
anyway if i can set these timings back to default and start again

    cheers

Pay very little attention to what BIOS show and see what it is actually set to

I fined it weird to desire setting, I go by performance myself, can you post memory benchmark?

well if it can run nicely with low temps at 3.6 then that is what i desire. it runs everyday programs and games well at 4.6 but too hot on intel burn test
and if i could link up the ram to work at 1600 with that 3.6 overclock then thats what i want to acheive
no reason whatsoever that it cant as ram runs well at that speed when there is no cpu overclock
    and cpu overclocks well

what benchmark should i use to show you what you want to see ??

and will doing the cmos clear those memory timings?
if i can clear those timings back to default i think i will figure it out...eventually
