    Default RAM upgrade

    Hello,

I would like to upgrade my memory. For my machine, look at my signature.

should I go for 2x4GB or 4x2GB? dual channel or triple channel? Brand recommendation?

    Many thanks,
    vince

That board only supports duel channel ram. Only X58 supports tripple channel. Overclocking with 2x4gb should be easier then 4x2gb. As for brand I perfer gskill maybe other guys have ideas for other brands

    Which Mushkin Model is it?

And, just to be sure, is this the G.Skill model you mentioned or not? If not please link us to what you are looking at, thanks!

yes, it is the correct G Skill sticks I'm interested in.

and for the Mushkin, I don't have a specific model, i'm open but they are usually more expensive and rare here in UK.

    thanks

OK, I thought maybe you were looking at a specific model. Well it's hard to say without knowing the Mushkin model, but those G.Skill default timings aren't anything special, so if you find a Mushkin kit you like with lower timings then that would probably be the better choice, as long as it's not super expensive.

I found some Mushkin in UK for someone last week, see this post for my findings. Of course some of those are 12GB kits, or triple channel, but you'll get a good idea of shops I found that had decent prices anyway.
i950 with gigabyte x58 ud5 memory and overclocking help please
