Thanks for the info, if I get time I'll test this in the next day or two.

If your other BIOS if 4b that worked for you, you can switch to that BIOS with the board powered off and then get it going at the settings you want, then write them down. Then switch back to the new BIOS and input your settings and tweak from there.

But if you need us to advise you instead we can! Do you have any idea of what your idle Vcore was for your old 4.5Ghz settings? That way we aren't blindly trying to guess your CPU's ideal Vcore at that speed.

Ok woke up this morrning and dug out my step dads DMM.

I made a crappy video of what is happening. Sorry iphone was the only thing I had with me at the time.

We start off with the system starting up with 4G button pushed in but not enabled. Then you see voltage drop thats the system enabling the 4G button. The system tries to start if you can hear the faint clicking in the background. Then you see voltage drop again this when the 4G button failed and then the system starts on failed overclock. I then go into the bios and show the failed overclock settings.

LSD if you need more let me know.

    thank you for your video

the problem with the 4G button is that on your rig it multiplies it with 20 as you have the 930 on mine is doing it with 24 adding it to 4.8ghz with the same volts you have

hm I am thinking more of just doing it all over again from scratch

My test was done with a 920 but still close enough LOL. I dont see how it thinks 24x200 4ghz so something is defiantly wrong. But as I said before overclocking is done best manually in the bios. But still is a function in the bios is broken then it must be fixed.

Do you need any help with overclocking the system manually?

Looking at your sig is that a typo did you mean EK waterblocks? Never heard of ET unless they are extraterrestrial LOL.

Thanks for the video Ace! I'll go ahead and try to test this myself this weekend with a few different CPU's than you guys are using (I'll test with 965 and 980X since you guys did 920), just to confirm.

Then I'll let them know about the issue.

Wasp, try these settings for 4.2Ghz, if you want other variations or slower frequency let me know

    @ ace yes ek

    @ lsd

well did run what you said

though the profile 1 extreme has always been working, did though add 1.66v on ddram

    CPU Vcore: 1.38v QPI/VTT Voltage 1.200v

been running prime 95 for 3 hours now, no fail yet

did run smaller intel burn test for around 45 min before that

and did run occt but it failed when i pressed for a screen shoot from the msi afterburner.
    but anyways seems stable

will have a full list of what i added later today

Well I just was giving you a general place to start from, I could give you many other varied sets of settings using different speeds for CPU, memory, uncore.

As for the memory you didn't list your model so I wasn't sure what timings your kit has because there is 4 12GB kits of DHX+ listed at their site.

Sounds like you are up and running pretty good though, so that's nice to see!

Load Line Calibration ................. Level 1
    CPU Vcore ............................... 1.385
QPI/VTT Voltage 1.150v ............ 1.250 (did try 1.275 but failed under graphic test at heavy load)
    CPU PLL 1.800v ....................... Auto

though when i now start up the pc it says checking dram size right under dmi pool data update, then it reboots?
    and start up like normal

Checking DRAM size means your are missing a memory channel, this is often caused by incorrect amount of QPI/Vtt or too high of an uncore value (Without enough QPI/Vtt to pull it off).

So lower your uncore if it's set above 2x or raise the QPI/Vtt until it stops doing that.

some how it stopped reading the memory in bank c
so after i switched places one them it did work fine

did lower the uncore to x16 to 3200
did also raid the vcore to 1.89 (as i just got a bluescreen telling me to do it:-P)
    and the qpi to 1.315

did also add the memory fan i had running on NB back to the memory
