Left coast is self explanatory and makes "right" coast redundant.
Actually, I live about an hour from two coasts; Gulf & Altlantic. Which is true for a lot of people in Florida. But meantime I'll just stay out here in my woods in the boondocks.

Which reminds me; LSD did you ever get DSL where you are?? Wasn't that you a few years ago that had satellite internet like I used to before DSL??

if anyone is looking for a solution to use high-powered fans and still be able to use pwm to control them, this seems to be the solution.
    - Z68X-UD3H-B3(rev 1.3), bios F12
    - I5-2500k [3148C059], cooled by scythe mugen2 rev.b with 1500rpm pwm-fan on cpufan header.
    - 8G(2x4G) Corsair Vengeance LP CML8GX3M2A1600C9W,Low profile/Low voltage, DDR1600/C9-1.35v. Slots 1&2.

Well, the same could be said about Left Coast, meaning Right Coast makes Left redundant

No, still out in the sticks, doubt I'll ever see DSL here, still on satellite!

Yeah, I thought I used to see you on the Hughesnet forum at dslreports. I'm happy to report I've had DSL out here in the boondocks for about 2 years now. Still got the old dish and modem laying around somewhere, and turned the post mount into a plant hanger. It's the lowest tier but they are laying fiber so I'm hoping for at least 6 megabit/sec one day before I die: 12 if I'm lucky.

Back on topic again, I got the new fan hooked up to the 212+ so now it's a push-pull, but I'm not sure if it makes any difference temperature wise. None of the programs out there seem to give steady, accurate results. I've tried the updated 3.70 realtemp, the 64bit version of HWinfo, and some others. Curiously, on some of the programs CPU core 4 always seems to be 8-10* hotter than the other cores. I ran the Intel burn test and Cinebench while monitoring temps.
Oh,, and the hookup is the OKgear sleeved 4pin fan Y cable ProfJim linked, I clipped the yellow and blue wires leaving only the power wires on one branch of the Y for one of the fans. Looks like a quality wire as well.

Other thing of note, I had ordered the Link Depot 3pin fan Y splitter (pretty sure it's Link Depot) and happy to report that on one branch of the Y they left the signal wire off completely, leaving only the power wires as desired. I used this to connect an additional fan to the side of the HAF 922, but it's brought the noise level up a bit so I may take it out.

I've been experimenting, but right this second the setup is the stock fans running as originally intended (front pulls into case, rear pulls out, top pulls out). The 212+ in a push-pull, and the side fan pulling into the case and aimed more or less at the 212+. The top fan and side case fan are on the 3 pin Link Depot Y splitter and plugged into the only 4 pin chassis header (besides the cpu fan header) but of course only 3 pins in use.

My thoughts are right now that after some more testing I may remove one fan from the 212+, replace the top fan with a 4 wire and/or remove the side fan or use a 4 pin. Wish I could get more accurate temp readings.

Yeah, the satellite thing was a PITA, but I'll tell you if you have nothing else it's great. But I love living in the sticks, can't tolerate living cheek to cheek like some do in the city.

Yup, anti-social people need some place to live.
If I had my way, I'd live on a mountain top.

Post a screen-shot of the RealTemp and/or HWmonitor readings that are bothering you.
I have an infrared lazer thermometer from HarborFreight that is excellent for reading temps, but it won't help with cpu temperature readings.
