    Default adding an SSD

    Hi Guys
    im looking at adding a intel 520 120gb ssd to my system for my OS and my one main game.

    also looking at getting another hdd Western Digital Green 2TB WD20EARX for storage

    mobo is a gigabyte x58a-ud3r rev2, any1 know of any issues with this mobo and ssd's before i take the plunge?

    with setting up of teh ssd and hdd how should i set these up?
    Mobo - GA-X58A-UD3R v2 bios version FB
    Ram - Mushkin 998826 ridgeback-(3x2gb) 6gbrm 6-8-6-24 1T 1.65v Qpi-1.355v
    Cpu - i7 950 3.07mhz
    Cooling - Corsair h70
    Gpu - 2 x evga nividia gtx 460 1gb external exhaust models
    Psu - Corsair hx850
    Hdd - 1tb western digital black caviar
    Case - Antec nine hundred and two
    Os - Windows 7 home premium 64bit

    should be fine,on marvell controller or intel sata2,dont expect to see rated speeds though,for that you need newer marvell or intel sata3 ports

    Use the Intel ports for best overall performance and stability

    Connect your SSD to SATAII_0 and your storage on the next port, then put your CD/DVD on the last Intel port. And set AHCI in the BIOS before you install

    cheers guys, however my mobo has sata 3 ports.

    Your motherboard has was more than that You probably meant controllers though, I know.

    The blue ports are the Intel ports, and you want the OS drive in the first Intel port SATAII_0 and the rest of what I said above applies to the latter drives, all going on the Intel Blue controller ports

    my ssd and addition hdd should be coming tomorrow, if i just follow above sequence all should be sweet? first i will install additional hdd ro copy material over, then wipe current hdd, then install ssd, go into bios set to ahci mode then install windows and reap the speed
