    Good Afternoon!

I actually have attempted two fixes for the IE error 1) deleted the temp files 2) disabled the McAfee site advisor
(thinkin it was site advisor, process is started and im closing it sorta unexpected like) If I dont see any errors, maybe I can renable w some clean boots But the steps to clean temps is much appreciated (I copied to my USB before deleting though) and could lead to better results too..

Long story short, I had a recovery disc that preloaded SW, deleting temps lead to a failed start for some Adobe SW <-- Of course system was all recovered,
about a week or two before I learned of my failure (this kinda slowed my fast approach to cleanup)

The plan for using/trying 4G once is just to see if anything appears incorrect or unstable like.

    take care

    Afternoon!

I finally reinstalled the HD's earlier today. It didnt appear to go well at first, I had to start in safe mode to bootup. Now I believe everything is looking good, but just wanted to find out for sure that having @ 147 mb used space makes sence. I already tried full format, deleted the array, recreated, and even used diskpart steps inclucing clear, (not active) but when alls said and done (147 mb used)

This appears to be the frist error listed (bugcheck) 0x0000003b (0x00000000c0000005, 0xfffff8000339c542, 0xfffff88003fd8b20, 0x0000000000000000) when i first attempted startup (just listing in case intereted)

I also ran check disk and it lists 256 file records, 280 index entries, and 12 data files

The only file I can actually see is $RECYCLE.BIN which has a empty Recycle.Bin folder. Im figuring that this space & files relates to the Raid being created in boot?

It's not unusual to see chkdsk list files on a freshly formatted drive even.

Ya, and I think 80MB is normal for a single drive, so 140-160 for a RAID sounds about right to me. Also, if you are not manually aligning your partition pre-install, and instead letting windows create and align that partition, then you will have the 100MB hidden partition containing the system bootup and repair files, but that is visible in disk management, so you'd know if it was that.

0x3b is often Vcore, but it could have been anything if it was random and doesn't reappear

    Morning

Its kinda nice to know that its normal to have files like that. When I first installed Win on the HD's, I was attempting to pre format (avoiding the sys drive) But it was one of the first things I changed when System wasnt able to install Windows. So yeah the "hidden" was visible, I formatted it and deleted it. etc. etc.

As far as error's, I havnt seen the Vcore error since. Although I really havnt a clue why I see a msg for Desktop Window Manager unable to start because desktop composition setting is disabled Under Performance I have it set to "let Windows choose" and desktop composition is checked (along w most everything else).

Im pretty sure I mentioned, or was going to mention that I noticed my Razer's tray icon was responsible for a delay when attempting to shutdown. So Ive started to right click and close before logging off, should I be doing this for most all tray icons? The reason Im asking is because Ive seen a delay for shutting down (program still running) and Im thinking a succeful startup could start by proper shutdown.

iirc I used to close the icons, until I encountered a situation where the program didnt start back up LOL

So anyway Im going to give it a few days, to start making any real changes.

    Once again Thank You!

So do you still see DWM is unable to start, or was that random and now is working? Without that you can't have Aero, so if Aero is working then DWM is working

You shouldn't have to manually close anything when you shut down, are all those programs up to date?

The interesting thing here is that I had Win 7 basic theme set, but w a different background picture.

Im changing to Win 7 aero, to check if it notice reappears (game actually required basic theme, its a work in progress)

In so far as updates, Im not sure on Antec's chill SW, (but its always worked too, some others have reported issues) but Im pretty sure the rest are current. I can double check this tomorrow!

    heres program list:
    Killer nic
    SB panel
    Nvidia
    THX
    Razer DA
    Origin
    Chill Control

p.s. maybe I should be asking is it okay to close em? I know its been a few yrs since I even considered closing em

Well with basic set DWM shouldn't start anyway, as it's only needed for Aero and Aero's other effects.

If your game requires basic, often/usually, the game itself will swtich the theme to basic or disable the dwm which is about the same. Like Vantage Benchmark does that I believe, or one of the Futuremark bench's does anyway.

Razer, do you really need that? I've tried it for my mouse a few times and always hated it, not that it had issues or errors, it just sucked for me but I'm not a gamer so that may be why I disliked it

You can close anything you want before shutting down, it's not a problem to do that, I just meant you shouldn't have to do that is all.

    Morning

I know I have most likely listed some errors that have little to no bearing on any potential issues (ie. the bugcheck error) only seen it once..

    So anyway heres the latest

Desktop Window Manager has exited w code 0x40010004

Heres the Admin Event on startup Circular Kernel Context Logger failed to start with the following error 0xC0000035 (this one appears to have repeated 19 times on startup) and its occured/occuring on a normal basis

Now the only error Im aware of (which ironically isnt shown via Computer Managment) is an error to create HomeGroup. I believe this originally failed when I first connected (Ive since retried, same result) My other System is Vista, so I would need to connect my printer to the Router for use anyway

The Razer program allows for changing quite a few things ie. button assignments, polling rate etc.

My Network adaptor just up and disappeared a minute ago. I used windows to scan for problems and no nic/card detected. I rebooted and Network is back (somewhat obviously) Do you think it would be a good idea to uninstall current driver/software, install original software, and then update? The lastest version (or the one before) included a fw update, which is why I figured to install the latest was a good idea.

p.s. I still need to check for latest sw for Antec chill control. plus fwiw I was looking at hidden devices earlier, but I didnt disable/uninstall anything! The reason I was looking was related to seeing various Wan miniports and such listed when I had a failed driver or such at startup (and no I hadnt selected show hidden at the time)
