We are talking about white slots only here correct? Just checking to be sure.

WOW, this is the third board this past 2-3 weeks with broken memory slot pins, what's going on with this!?

Yes - white slots only. It's in my slot one as seen in the picture. The other two white slots are working fine.

I am super upset right now :(

Will Gigabyte rectify this under warranty? I did nothing wrong and have always been very careful putting in RAM.

They may or may not, you'll have to contact them and see.

You can use these other two threads I've seen recently for reference if they ask. Since this seems to be happening a lot here lately and maybe it's due to one brand of memory or something else on the slots themselves, no way this many instances recently can be user error
    GA-MA790FX-DS5 oh dear
Z68X-UD3H-B3, wont boot anymore with 4 sticks of ram.

It's definitely not any fault of my own. Thanks for showing me this, makes me feel a little bit better. It must have happened while taking out of my sticks of RAM. Super odd. I am VERY gentle with them. There's nothing I can do but RMA the board and hope for the best.

Ya, it's odd to me removing ram can do this, because I pull memory hundreds of times a week sometimes!

And I cram shop towels and paper towels into ram slots and never have any issues pulling it back out, guess I'm luck there probably, but still this shouldn't be possible due to pulling out a memory module unless there is something wrong with the slots or the contacts on the memory itself might be damaged causing it to catch on the pins in the slot.

I would let them know in the RMA notes, and link to this thread if you want!

I agree, they are normally top notch! Especially if the board is still under warranty!

And you should see a pretty quick turnaround too because they are located in your same state

Thanks. I received the RMA authorization. I am a little hesitant to take it all apart and part with my computer for a while. How long is the turn around time and do I pay for the shipping costs? Also, if I buy an 2x 4GB RAM kit and run it in dual-channel, how much less efficient is that than running three sticks of something in triple channel?

And will they give me the same board as a replacement or will they give me a newer model? I must admit, it would be nice to get SATA 6GB/s to go with my new SSD.

Tri channel will be best, took 2weeks for me in the uk,might be different for you,and they might offer a newer model but chances are they will solder on a new ram slot

So it will be a noticeable performance difference if I use dual-channel instead of tri-channel?

And I do pay for the shipping costs?
