1.4v for cpu @4ghz seems alot too? around 1.3-1.35v cpu voltage, set uncore frequency to twice your memory multiplier so 8x mem multi would be 16x uncore frequency

set the main top memory timings manually for each channel, for examply type whats printed on the ram itself 8-8-8-24 command rate 1t,might be better stability/voltages wise to use 2t command rate

qpi/vtt can be anything around 1.3750-1.4+

i remember when i tested 12gb of ocz reaper i needed 1.3750v qpi/vtt and that was at 1600mhz and stock cpu clocks
Hi Wazza,
Thanks for ideas here, much appreciated.
My whole "problem" was with the fact that I wanted the new mem work around 2000; my old one ADATA 1600 gaming Series at 9-9-9-24 (1.55V to 1.75V) was pretty good, but I wanted more
I will play with it some more...

i know what you mean, problem is those cpu's memory controllers arnt that great,it might not be worth running such a high qpi/vtt voltage at 2000mhz,esp 12gb,you would severly limit the life of the cpu imo,its due to ocing with bclk the more memory fster frequency and the more ram you have the more voltage you will need

you can try if you like but its much safer to run at 1600mhz,or ditch 6gb and run 6gb at 1866mhz,i ran 6gb at 1800mhz fine for years but never oc'd when i used 12gb

Agree with you 100%! If it wasn't for the fact that I am using FancyCache and assigning between 4 to 6gb to it, I would keep it at 6 gb total and be happy with it. But there is always something... that we want to improve and then it kicks us back in the a..

See, I told you others would be able to help you if you made a thread!

If you want some suggested settings to try 2000Mhz, I can give you some to play with, but keep in mind as the others have mentioned you may need to use a high amount of QPI/Vtt. And doing that above 1.45 isn't really ideal for daily 24/7 use

You know about how much vcore you need and might get away with even less. QPI/Vtt you will have to find, the lower it is possible to use is better.

Your CPU is unlocked so you don't even need to change bclk much to get the memory at DDR-2000. Try selecting XMP profile1 and then increase bclk untill you get it to 2000 or max it is stable at. Then increase CPU multplier. You can also try and lower QPI frequency to make it easier to overclock.
That was a nice idea -to start with XMP that lists profile 1 as 2000 at 143 bblock and work around it, but no matter what I do - it won't even post...
Not even with the default settings for CPU and XMP w/profile1

I will be happy to try anything!
Otherwise I'll need to send this memory back... (I hope Amazon will take it) and go back to my old ADATA

You can try these, but as I mentioned in PM, running 2000Mhz memory (4Ghz uncore) is often very hard with CPU's under 970 (IE 920-975), and you'll have to use a LOT of QPI/Vtt voltage most of the time

Before I give you any settings, can you please send me a SPD dump for that memory, use this tool here, choose a slot and dump the SPD then upload here. I want to check their programmed QPI/Vtt values
http://www.techpowerup.com/spdtool/SPDTool_063.zip

And you want CPU in the 4Ghz area right?

My CPU is 975 extr, unlocked, right?
Dumps are attached in my first post.
Yes, I want to stay around 4GHz
Thanks!

Sorry, I missed you dumped SPD's already, thanks!! They have it set at 1.25 which is just general XMP setting, not many will do 2000Mhz with that at all, so I can see why so many complain about it not working for them at newegg!

They also have 9-10-9-27 in the XMP, instead of the specified 9-11-9-27!

Newegg.com - CORSAIR DOMINATOR GT 12GB (3 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2000 (PC3 16000) Desktop Memory with Air Fan Model CMT12GX3M3A2000C9

Yes 975 EE is unlocked, what I meant was only 970, 980X, 990X have different IMC's that can run higher uncore easily, and they also can run uncore lower than 2 x memory (x1.5), so those don't always have to run 4Ghz uncore when memory is at 2000Mhz.

Try these settings for 4.2Ghz, if you want me to adjust that for lower CPU Ghz let me know or just set x19 for now which will be 3.8Ghz, don't use x20 as your CPU may not like even CPU multi's and we want to keep CPU out of the equation right now anyway.

Also keep in mind QPI/Vtt is the key voltage for this memory endeavor

BSOD Error codes and what they mean:

0X00000101 << Not enough Vcore Voltage

Thanks much Lsdmeasap!
I will give it a try and report back.

PS
My sticks actually read 9-10-9-27 on them (that's what also shows when XMP loads it and command rate at 2T)
