Actually I've had some weird problems. I tried setting Vcore to "Normal", then tried to find an optimal setting for dvid but I kept BSOD in I.B.Test even when I had a pretty "high" Vcore. (all this is at 45x) So finally I gave it up for the night and went back to the former "Auto" Vcore settings (no dvid manual adjustments). The cores would constantly stay at 4.513 GHz. Reboots did not help, and the speed was the same in BIOS as in OS. I finally went back to x44 clocks and reinabled EIST etc and now it idles down to 1.6 GHz in the OS.
I'm not sure what is going on. It was late so quit for the night.
Maybe try clear CMOS and start over? With the current x44 I can pretty much run everything on Auto if I want for normal tasks (can't run Prime95 until I get better cooling but I.B.Test OK).
Maybe I fried something when I ran Prime95 with temps in the 80's for about 5-10 minutes?
Other notes, this thing really likes Vcore. It seems to want Vcore up over 1.39 if I'm reading right. At the point it seemed to be stable at x45 multi (before I continued to tinker) I think the lowest I got was around 1.38.

unrelated but something else I think is weird; I have a Cougar CF-V12HP pwm fan plugged into the 4 pin System 2 fan header and in ET6 it shows System 1 & System 2 fans reversed. Also CPU-Z shows vtt voltage; isn't it supposed to display Vcore? Or is that just on some boards and not Z68?

wazza, on the last go-around I left it Auto. Increasing did not seem to help and I did not go lower.

you would be better of manually setting it,try 1.10v qpi/vtt see how much normal uses for cpu and add a little in dvid, aim for 1.35-1.36 max for cpu voltage, not sure how much llc applies with all the different levels, could add 1.5750v dram too see if that helps

OK. Gonna flash the BIOS with F9 straight away. Been using F9g but just in case something changed I want to get this out of the way before I continue. Back later.

After flashing the F9 from F9g, for whatever reason the core temps at idle are now in OS software what the BIOS displays (low to mid 30's) whereas before all soft was showing mostly high 30's-low 40's.
    So that's a plus.
Currently at 44x multis with everything Auto.
Had to enable EIST otherwise clocks stayed at 44x at idle.
Anyway a fresh start, and will get back to tweaking later, breakfast and the dog is calling.

Be sure you are using the latest BIOS, and latest CPU-z for the CPU-z showing Vtt instead of Vcore issue, that was normally due to older CPU-z versions.

    Here's the latest
CPUID - System & hardware benchmark, monitoring, reporting

wazza, are you talking about max vcore?
Anyway, at 44x, with vcore set to "normal" which unlocks the dvid on this board, I kept adjusting dvid up but monitoring with hwinfo seemed to show massive droop. So I kept moving qpi/vtt up to 1.10 but no good. While load testing I would always crash with 0124 BSOD. I have so far been unable to use dvid to any advantage, so not sure where to go at this point, if I'm missing something or what, since no combination of dvid and vtt seem to help, yet Vcore on Auto and/or manually set 1.380 or higher passes IBT.

Right now everything is set back to Auto but multi's at 44x. MIT shows 1.392 vcore and in the voltage adjustment screen it shows 3.40 Normal. ET6 shows vcore 1.340 power on and 1.345 target.
Actual vcore in load testing wants 3.80 or higher but droops to 3.56 and still passes I.B.T.
Forgot to add I have done nothing with dram, it's been rock solid at 1.50v.

124 can be not enouh cpu voltage, maybe not enough qpi/vtt too

if your getting vdroop what level llc did you use? maybe one higher setting? around 1.36v total cpu load voltage for 4.5ghz imo give or take a few,qpi/vtt might be ok at stock 1.05v but anywhere between 1.05-1.2v can be used
