Also If you are having trouble getting dvid to work at 44x multi try using dvid at a lower overclock till you get a hang of it.

You may have to play with LLC if you multi levels. I think if it goes from 1-10 try 6 or 7.

I added a bunch to dvid but the red bios screens warnings finally put me off. BIOS would show a high vcore (1.4xx) in the MIT but when monitoring in the OS the vcore was really low, fluctuating between .8xx & 1.2xx.
As long as hwinfo is showing low vcore, is it safe to keep adding dvid?

you need to go off what the bios says,1.4v is too much imo

try manually setting 1.36v and see how you get on,be carefull with the llc as it can add a big amount of voltage when at load,so you might need to set a lower cpu voltage maybe 1.28v and look to see how much each llc level applies in cpu-z when under stress, stay below 1.4v though

you need to work out a stable cpu voltage first then move on to dvid and see if you can get it stable

for example my bios says my cpu voltage is 1.17v but in windows and cpu-z stressing it uses 1.34-1.35v thats how much the llc applies to it

YOu also need to watch what load voltage is applied from what you set as mentioned above!

DVID = useless IMO But hey, that's just me, carry on guys!

Ya, it's one or the other, or use very old BIOS let you use both I think (Maybe only P67 on that though, not sure)

Right now vcore set 1.34, vtt 1.09 pll 1.76 & 45x turbos. Power saving options enabled. Can get through IBT, at least.
I gave up on dvid, never could get it stable.
Never have finished Prime95 cause of temps. Not running it anymore until my Noctua cooler and other case fan gets here later this week then I'll start over when I know I'm not going to fry something.

    Appreciate all the input.

IBT is colder than Prime95? Sounds like you are using old IBT without AVX, right? LinX and IBT should be MUCH hotter than Prime95

I'm using the newest Prime95 with AVX. Probably has more to do with the length of the testing: when Prime95 finishes the 448K testing and moves to the next series my temps start shooting up.
With my present cooling the hottest I see in IBT is 72*c.
Anyway that's my story and I'm sticking to it. I'm sure there's a more technical reason.

I think you are correct I have read some users saying the newer version of prime95 its heating those chips the same as LinX/IBT or a little warmer.

Back in the day with first gen i7's LinX/IBT were about 10c hotter then Prime95.
