    Default best bios for p67 ud4 b3

Im running an old revision of the f5 BIOS ( b I think) because I couldn't find a BIOS that didn't give me the memory speed error. How's the f7 BIOS been treating everyone. Is there a better choice that the f7? Thanks

What memory speed error? I've never noticed any memory speed errors with UD4, and I reviewed the board using F7f BIOS. I reviewed the B2 board though, so maybe B3 boards had an issue with older BIOS, not sure?

I would suggest using the latest BIOS always, so that would be F7 as you mention.

If you use F7, be sure you update your backup BIOS to match the main, and start with optimized defaults then save/apply/reboot BACK to the BIOS before making changes.

Here's how to flash the backup BIOS to match the main, this is very important on P67/Z68, you may need to use PS/2 keyboard or USB to PS/2 adapter

If you find F7 has the same error, please explain and show some examples, then I'll flash my board to that BIOS and test to confirm, then if so I'll send in a report on it for you.

If i remember correctly, I could not change the multiplier on the CPU with the memory running at ddr 1600. I must of tried every f5 BIOS and all did it but one revision. Also, what's so important about updating my backup BIOS? I've never done this in the past...is this exclusive to f7 BIOS?

Thanks for the info, please see if F7 final BIOS does this to you as well. If it does, then I'll test and verify it for you, then request a fix.

Updating the backup BIOS to match the main is very important on P67/Z68, due to the way they implemented the dual BIOS styles (EFI/Award normal BIOS). If you do not do this is it can cause startup issues, cold boot issues, boot loops and cycles, ect.

So please start doing this, otherwise you can run into any number of random issues and you wont know if it's due to BIOSes being mismatched or not. It's exclusive to all P67 and Z68 boards, you should do this always on any board in this lineup
