    Default p67a-ud4-b3 F8 bios temps

Flashed F8 and under full load my temps were around 8c higher than F7 bios. Flashed back and all is normal.

Just a heads up for anyone who might not notice this.

BTW, all settings were exact same for both BIOSes and I tested it twice.

did it use more voltage at load? or did you test with lower cpu voltage or llc level with the newer bios? some bios versions use more/less voltages than others so you would need to tweak with each version

I used the exact settings for both BIOS. Same voltage under load, everything was the same.

Except the temps were very different, and I tested it twice, cleared CMOS each time, and got the same results.

    Very weird.

yes im just wondering if the newer bios would have let you lower voltages and reduce temps where the old bios wouldnt without it crashing ect? they may have altered the voltages for the llc levels ect so maybe you could have used a lower level llc than your older bios and it would have lowered temps more

does seem strange though if load cpu voltages were reported as the same

Even if they adjusted the llc levels, I don't use those. I just set "Load-Line Calibration" to Enabled, as I could never find a llc level that I liked.

yeah probably a bug, good job you can flash back and forth bios's to one that works best, new isnt always the best sometimes,i run an older bios on my x58 i find it more stable ect

You have to pick a level, you can't just enable it. If you have old style LLC in older BIOS with Level 1 or 2, you have to pick one, same applies with new multi-LLC style 1-10, you have to pick one

Otherwise none may be applied in the 1-2 style BIOS (or 1 possibly), and in the Multi the lowest option might be used if you don't set it. Anyway, it's not intended to be used as enable but don't choose, you need to make a choice.

My suggestions are Level 1 for the 1-2 style, and for Multi-LLC style 4-7
