IntelŪ Management Engine Interface(MEI) 8.1.52.1496 (Firmware) (IntelŪ 7) is the right one to download for your board (you are advised not to use v9). This pack has all needed files to uppdate your boards BIOS. If you feel OK with installing a printer driver in Windows you will probably manage to install the firmware. As always when doing BIOS upgrades, don't turn of your computer untill the update is ready.

The firmeware is not a Windows driver. If you after the upgrade want to update to the latest driver you can do so by downloading IntelŪ Management Engine Interface(MEI) Driver (look where you found the firmware).

I hope this will be a step foward helping you to eventually solve your issues.

Actually: in order for the ME firmware update process to function, some version of an ME device driver must already be installed.
The latest version 10.x ME driver should work in combination with a multitude of both current and older model chipsets & firmwares, AFAIK.
