So I will break it down so if there is a problem in my method of troubleshooting and setting the drive correctly let me know

    1. Flash modded bios
    2. Restart PC to verify BIOS took correctly
    3. Switch off System.
    4. Turn off the PSU, remove Power cord from outlet.
    5. Disconnect the SSD and all other drives.
    6. Remove CMOS Battery.
    7. Press PC case power button for 20 secs to discharge caps.
    8. Short the CLR CMOS jumper and leave all to 'drain' for about 30 minutes.
    9. Remove jumper/Re-insert the Battery
    10. Attach power/turn on PSU and configure CMOS to safe Defaults and set AHCI SATA mode.
    11. Save CMOS settings, re-boot and switch off.
    12. Connect the SSD back, switch on and boot to CMOS to check if SSD is detected.

    SSD recongnized - NO

If No, follow steps 1-9 above.. then switch system back on and boot into CMOS again..
Then Hot Insert/Plug/Connect the SSD while in CMOS, by placing SATA Power lead on first, then SATA signal Cable.
Then save CMOS and re-boot back into to CMOS to check if SSD is detected.

    Still nothing.

Acebmxer would it be possible to have all the RAID controllers update. Or at least a point in the direction on where I can learn to do this on my own so I will not have to bother you with requests, as if you had nothing better to do than play to my whims.

I have already verified the vendor and device id if anyone cares to double check my work
    Vendor Device Device Class
    8086 2822 RAID Cntrlr
    197b 2363 RAID Cntrlr

The 197B / 2363 is also listed as my Native IDE Cntrlr on bus#3 dev#0 fun#1
Not sure if that matters at all but it was something i noticed and I have no idea what is important when it comes down to modding BIOS

A few things here. You should be using optimized defaults not fail safe, then save/apply/reboot back to the BIOS, then set AHCI and save/apply/reboot and let it load out till it says disk failure or no OS found, ect. Then shut down and connect your drive, but really you can always have the drive connected, it's not going to matter when it's connected. Connect the SSD to the first Yellow Intel port SATAII_0

But, the MAIN thing you need to do FIRST, as already mentioned, is verify this drive works in another computer, otherwise you may be wasting all this time troubleshooting for no reason. Connect it to another PC running windows as a secondary/spare drive, then go into windows and open disk management (Right click my computer, manage, disk management, or Run > diskmgmt.msc). Then see if the drive is listed, and if asked select MBR. If the drive is not showing up in disk management on another computer, or in the BIOS standard CMOS pages in IDE mode, then it is DOA and you'll need to exchange it.

J.Micron ROM's do not matter right now really, and I'd go ahead and stick with the BIOS modified with 8.5 ROM he already made you, or 9.6 later possibly but that can wait. Anyway, the Intel RAID ROM really isn't going to fail to detect it, it's just going to cause instability or graphical detection errors, The original ROM 8.0 or whatever it was would detect and function with the SSD, it's just not ideal is all. Ideal can come later, just wanted to let you know this ROM stuff is not the reason the drive is not showing up, for now you are fine to use the 8.5 BIOS made for you earlier but test this drive on another PC before you waste anymore time on this. SSD DOA's can be fairly common, so that should be what you verify first on another computer, before any further troubleshooting.

Don't mind my comments if you are going to use a newer ROM, I didn't check the change log or BIOS, so if you are already planning to try one with a ROM newer than 8.5 then you can ignore me

@ Ace, if you need a copy of all my MANY various ROM versions let me know!
I wasnt sure which version of the IRST rom stopped with ICH9 and which started with ICH10. I just so happend to find the 8.x version i modded for him in a similar Gigabyte bios that some else modded. So I was trying to play it safe. Which just so happens to be the one he asked/linked to later. His original bios came with version 7.x.
