I was glad to figure out why the BIOS was freezing on me as I was starting to get pretty frustrated with it. Disabled turbo/eist and set a locked voltage and all is well.

Will upgrade to F6i tomorrow after work and might try turbo again but I doubt it would be fixed since I must be the only person to use turbo/eist as I have not seen anyone else having this issue.

I think I saw where Sin0822 said that beta testing was done only with Ivy Bridge processors, and not with Sandy Bridge processors.
It might take a while for GB to sprinkle magic bios dust on a later bios version to fix the SB issue.

Installed Beta bios f6i no problems till this morning.

Whilst browsing the internet my screen froze (most likely nvdia driver 296.10 problems)
had this before but normally the screen recovers.

Now had to hard switch off the pc.

Than when I attempted to enter this Bios, I got the uefi bleenscreen but than every
    froze solid.

had to re-sett installed bios f5 via @bios in w7 and was than again able to enter the
    normal bios screens.

could de screen driver crash caused this weird problem?

assume the bios works normally used the standard vga drivers?

    thanks for the feedback.

Did you check the windows Event Viewer to see if there were any problems shortly before your system froze?

Catching up with some of your earlier posts:
The turbo is not working for the sandy bridge chips, have to just use the cpu multi and it works fine with EIST, etc enabled, or actually all mine are Auto I believe. I've never touched any of the power saving stuff.
When I let Easy Tune's new auto-clock thingie run, it got up to 4.7MHz with a combo of block and mulitplier and when it was finished none of the powersaving stuff was disabled.

Sorry to hear you're having freezes, mine has been running well at 45x (my OC).

ran a systems report and got an error "plug and pay device not starting" error ROOT\LEGACY_SBRE\0000

de-installed these driver and the error is no longer showing up in the report.

Re-installed Bios F6I and so far no screen freezes.

googled the ROOT\LEGACY_SBRE\0000 error and it could have to do with Adaware which I previously installed and later
removed , but also usb related problems.

Still strange that it effected entering the bios screens, but if the usb mouse does not operate correctly this might cause
the Uefi / bios screen freeze? (just a thought)

Happens with UD3H and 2500K as well, it's not as bad anymore as earlier BIOSes, but still there sometimes.
