    Default Does GA-Z77X-UD3H support VT-d?

Does this motherboard support VT-d and if not is this planned in a future BIOS update? If not then I'm afraid I won't go with GA. :(

    Thx.

    Hi,

The first step to take is to read through your motherboard manual and see if VT-d is stated, I know that the UD5H and the GA-Z77X-D3H has VT-d. Also, it is the non K cpu's that support VT-d like the i7 -3770 and the i5 - 3550 are required.

    Hope this helps

VT-d is not in the manual, but it is as you said in the manual for the D3H and UD5H. Kind of mind boggling they gave the D3H VT-d capability but not the UD3H, especially given the difference between the two is pretty much 2x copper PCB and some fancy buttons for overclockers. WTF.

On the D3H the newest manual was released 2 days before the latest BIOS update that added support for Xeon processors. This manual is rev 1003. Whereas the newest BIOS for the UD3H that added support for Xeon processors was released over a week after the latest manual which is rev 1002. D3H and UD5H used an i5-2400 which does support VT-d for the manual whereas UD3H used an ES which may or may not support VT-d. I'm guessing (and hoping) they just didn't update the manual. :)

In any case I've contacted Gigabyte about it and might just get the D3H. Thx.

    Hi,

I looked at these MB's too for virtualisation and decided if I was going to choose one it would probably be the UD5H but I'll see how Ivybridge pans out. I hope you find the motherboard to suit your requirements.

stasio has a D3H board with UD3H BIOS installed, I'd ask him to be sure.
