Guys I would suggest going here http://forums.tweaktown.com/gigabyte...ity-tools.html for all the latest drivers and utilities. Gigabyte does not always post the newest drivers on their website. Sometimes they can be very out dated. Scroll down to post #2 for the drivers and utilities.

I think the common part here is Ivy Bridge CPU's and z77 chipset. If you do some googling you'll find post from people using the z77-ud3 board with identical problems. I'm still looking for some post of non-gigabyte mother boards doing the same thing.

Having everything disconnected -- including hard drives -- causes freezes/shutdowns in the BIOS also.

I'm not sure if the usb devices are actually causing the freezing problems, but since I was not able to enter the Bios when
my Logitech Momo Steering Wheel was connected, this seem logical in my case.

On the otherhand my problems only surfaced after I start using the I7 3770k on this mb, Intel Pentium G850 working
    perfectly.

Nuf, do you also use the Ivy bridge proc? we need to determine what the common factor is which is responsible for the freezing up.

    1) usb ports / hubs?
    2) intel drivers?
    3) ivy bridge processors?
    4) inmature bios?
    5) windows 7?
    6) etc. etc.
1.)Only have mouse and keyboard connected on the intel usb ports
2.)Installed the latest Intel drivers from the gigabyte website
    3.)3570k IB running at stock
    4.)Have run F4. F6, and F8a. Currently running F6
    5.)Windows 7 sp1 with all updates
6.)Corsair 4x4 Vengeance ram running at 1600 mhz using xmp profile
7.)It's locked up on me using both my dedicated 6870 and also the integrated graphics

My system seems to be running stable at this point. I've been on it for a half hour without it locking up, which is something of a miracle from my past experiences. I'm not willing to say that it has been solved just yet though. The one thing I did was up change the bclk from auto to 100.1. I remember seeing a post on some forum where a user was experiencing some instability on his UD5H and upping the bclk just a little bit seemed to work for him. Unfortunately, I can't find a link to it anymore. It's working so far on mine. We'll see if this a permanent fix or just a little bit of false hope.

Starting to load drivers one at a time starting with INF installation 9.3.0.1019 - I'll follow later with Engine interface 8.0.01351 - it will be intersting to see how far I get before killing the system.

I assume everybody uses the default advised port 0 (intel) has anybody tested the Gsata Marvel sata port to determine if the system
    also freezes up?

Just read the links (tks. Neal) fortunately Arock mb are also effect so it must indeed be something to do with the Intel z77 chip set and
Ivy Bridge processors or bugs in the Bios?

You would assume this problems should have surfaced whilst GB / Intel were testing the mb and chip set?

nb.: I'm using the following drivers

    Intel chip set 930120
    Intel RST 11101006
    Intel Mei 80101461
    Intel usb 3.0 104225
    EasyTune6 1204021

    ================================================== ================================================== ====

just e-mailed Gigabyte the Netherlands to relay my question to Taiwan in respect to the freeze in w7.

will keep you posted once I receive a reply.

After 6 hrs. Windows 7 frooze again. (yesterday)

I have now de-activated the integr video chip and are only using my 560t1 vk, after having read some more on the
internet in respect to the possible cause of the W7 freeze.

will advise if W7 remains stable or freezes up again.

I'm not having any freezes or lockups. Only problem I have is getting front USB 3.0 ports to recognize USB 2.0 devices.
I'm on beta BIOS F8A. Board is running x44 w/1.2v vcore, everything else on Auto or default settings. Latest everything installed driver wise.

Has the board been down? I couldn't get in at all most of yesterday/last night.

Yes if had the same problem, it seems the forum was down till a few minutes ago.

Apart from the bioses as kindly provided by Stasio, I also use the below German site.

Bios f8a is not recommended, unfortunately it does not state why.

For the time being I went back to the official F6 version.
