Keep @ it Lodingi you'll make it eventually if your memory can handle it...

I do appreciate everyone's help, and I will resume my quest this evening.
By "didn't get it stable at 3.9", do you mean only Under stress testing, or not stable at all ?

Also, with a 4GHZ overclock your memory would be running at around 940MHz. So, have you yet proven, using MEMTEST86+ for example, that your memory is actually stable when stressed at this level ?

Without passing this type of memory test, You would be wasting your time continuing with CPU overclocking/stress trials ---> just a thought!
The more I know, the more I know I don't know...

I couldn't get it stable while stress testing. I now understand what you mean about testing the ram. Not sure what I was thinking previously.

I raised the FSB to 471 (4.0). I booted into to Windows and ran a short test on IBT (10 pass). Here's what happened.

    - @ 1.2625v IBT failed
    - @ 1.26875v IBT failed
    - @ 1.275v IBT failed
    - @ 1.28125v IBT failed
    - @ 1.2875 IBT passed (YAY)

I then rebooted & ran Memtest at the 471 FSB.

Memtest locked up at 2.12v, 2.14v, 2.16v & 2.18v. I decided not to go higher without checking in here first. At 2.16v, I was able to run test 5 successfully before locking up on the 4th pass. I await your instructions.

Try higher vcore voltage. I'm guessing tha's what your refering to ^^^

These settings are Ram voltage. Sorry for the confusion. Does vcore have an effect on running Memtest? I assumed the vcore voltage was stable due to passing IBT.

You pased IBT but not memtest?

That is correct. I increased my vcore until I passed IBT. I then ran Memtest. Each time it froze, I would increase the memory voltage and run Memtest. I stopped at 2.18 memory voltage and posted here.

That's a bit strange because IBT put much more stress both on the CPU and memory controler.
    Are you using memtest86+?
Does it freez with 8 CPU ratio too?
No need for more than 2.1v for memory voltage,, try to tweak the MCH and CPU references then clock skews.
Obly one of the clock skews need to bee changed if at all, try both when the other at 0 50-250ps.
For 6GHz try increasing CPU PLL one notch up above default.

Ok. Raising the MCH Core one notch to 1.18v seems to have worked. Memtest86+ has been running test 5 for over an hour (13 passes and counting), error free.

What GFlops you get at 5GHz? Core temps ok?
