    Thanks,

What I will have is two brand new WD Black 1TB 6GB/sec drives. Optical Drive, and a Flash drive with F7 Bios and the other drivers and utilities.

So I take it I will: (You tell me if I have anything out of order)

    Boot into the BIOS.
    Load optimized?

Make sure the RAM is at the settings Samsung has on the box for now.
    Setup my RAID1.
    Set boot order
    Update BIOS.
    Load Windows
    Chip-set drivers.
Whatever hardware drivers I am prompted for or need.
    Windows Updates.

Thanks. That post takes me back to 2008. In F7 I extract, "z77xud5h.f7", "Efiflash.exe" along with the autoexec.bat.

    You're welcome.

You don't need a bootable floppy or usb drive for flashing.
Extract the actual bios file (e.g. z77xud5h.f7) to a FAT32 formatted partition on a hard drive or usb drive.
Boot into QFlash and point to the usb drive with the new bios file.
Follow the procedure in the bios flashing guide and you'll be good to go.

Be sure to disable "Keep DMI Data" in the QFlash options.

I am really torn up with myself for butchering that case. The only relief is I have a security system in an old raggedy case that I have wanted to swap out for a while now and this one would do nicely for it.

So I shopped around again and the dimensions for the Corsair Carbide R500 will just make it into my work space.

The top radiator/fan bay allows for the 27mm Corsair H100 and I have a post in the OCN Corsair Carbide R500 club thread asking if anyone knows if the lid will close with the 35mm RS240 radiator. I see a member has a push/pull with fans on top of the RS240. I'm hoping he will pickup and tell me about the fit.

PM him/her. If I had the coins I would get a Switch but I would have to figure out some floor space for a full tower, maybe. Still the upper end Corsairs are nice.

I got a reply and its a no go. There are thicker than the H100 and thinner than the RS240 that will work so it looks like I'll stay with my modded case for now. I'll be experimenting with the flow direction of the top fan direction and speed for a while.

I am finding some of my old Yate Loon fans to be faster and quieter than the XSPC fans. I'm waiting on a 20mm thin back fan and a 4-pack of cooler masters to replace my two fronts and will stop spending right there for now.

Darned Newegg took my fast processing 2+ bucks and was still dragging it on my CPU. Not due till Thursday. Never had to wait 4 days before.

You could always get a HAF 922/932 and mount either inside or outside.
Or fab up a new top and hang the rad off the back.
Fortunately I don't need fast fans for my rad, the XSPC fans are about 100 rpm's slower than supposed to be. I think my Yate Loons are a little slower still but quieter. I usually turn my cpu and rear fans down to around 900 when I'm not doing anything but surfing or idle.
Yeah I gave them $2 processing fee early one morning once on 3 day shipping and it still took 4 days. they probably laugh and throw in the office pool every time someone sends it.
