The replacement MB showed up this afternoon. I installed the 955 x4 & it is up & running on the bench.

I got it into the case & have it running. With one VC & a RevoDrive3 it runs fine. With a 2nd card in Crossfire it will not boot. It keeps stalling when it goes to load the OS, then cycles. I removed the 2nd VC & took it for a test drive. 5.0 GHz on water. Not too bad.

Solved. I figured out which slot my primary VC was in, then went in to the BIOS. I had to change the "Init Display First" setting from the default to PEG, which is the 1st x16 slot. Crossfire is enabled & there is no trouble booting anymore.

Update: A very easy to set-up & reach 5 GHz on water. I haven't tried to go past there, so don't know what the absolute speed would be.

Cool Re: GA-990FXA-UD7 LCD reads 00 then 88, no POST

I emailed tech supp. And got this answer to not booting right:

    Dear Customer,

Please disconnect the CMOS battery battery from the board
and push down on the metal clip which holds the battery for several seconds.
From there reinsert back the battery and attempt to power on the system, if it
still does not post the BIOS appears to have gotten corrupted during BIOS
updating. You will need to contact our service department to sending in the
board for warranty service through the below
    website

    rma_index

    Thank you

I have no idea still how to read the LCDs There are 2 of them but every Definition is 3?

I Fryed the Dual bios and Got New Board in 5 days Under Warranty!

1st thing it says you cant change the default backup bios but I did easily It gave me the option so I was running Bios Ver 10.0 Beta when it was Avail. So Both Bios chips were 10 Beta. Worked perfect until I did something stupid lol. I read a Forum on Modding the Bios settings and downloaded a version 4.3 And Flashed to it, It said fine but After restart No video. They didnt tell me what was wrong and didnt say it was a new mb just said repaired but I knew it was new because I broke off 1 pin in the USB 3 Header on my MB and it was all new lol. Their Warranty Was Fast.

Came back with Bios Ver. 10.0 for both chips.

It Says 4.0 and newer support the 8150 which i have lol.

Well Just Flshed Bios to Version F11a Had to use a 2 Gig USB Formatted as FAT Worked perfect

Dont Flash to a Old Bios and Dont depend on Dual Bios!!!!
