Have you manually enabled Prime95 round off checking?
    If not, do it.

    The default setting is disabled.
When round off checking is enabled, and individual worker thread errors will automatically halt the worker worker thread that had an error, but the remaining worker threads will continue to run. The most common error is a rounding error and any worker thread errors mean that your system isn't stable.

I always test with round off checking enabled.
When it's disabled, I'm guessing that the error is reported in the window, and that the thread continues to run.
If this is how it works, you would have to scroll through all of the results for each thread when you stop the test.

    EDIT.

Its been 1.5hrs now, but I need some sleep. Not gonna leave on overnight, but i will re start the test tomorrow morning, and let it run for 8hrs on these settings, and see how it goes.

I did a quick search of this thread, round off checking was discussed originally in post #33.

OK Jim...here we go. Been a a good day so far....been going for just under 9hrs with no errors ...finally...

Here is some data you requested. I notice the voltage on hw-monitor is lower than my bios...like you said:

Temps look ok to me. Is there anything else I need to change?

Or is this the end of the road?

Thumbs up Re: Q9400 Overclock EP45T DS3R Help

End of the road? There is no end of the road.

My 1.350 cpu voltage suggestion was a SWAG to hopefully stop your favorite BSOD from repeating.
The goal is to use the lowest voltages that are completely stable.
1.35 volts is probably higher than needed.
First a little math; each cpu core voltage settings is 0.00625 different from the previous or next setting.
    0.00625 = 1/160th

If 1.32 volts resulted in errors, and 1.36 volts ran without errors, this 0.04 volt difference means that in this voltage range, there are 64 voltage steps. If will take a long time to test even half of these settings. Here's a way to speed things up:
Split the difference and test with 1.34 volts:
    • if there are errors with 1.34 volts, split the difference by using 1.35 volts
    • if there are no errors with 1.34 volts split the difference by using 1.33 volts
Using this split the difference approach will let you quickly find a lower stable voltage.

In case your mind is fogging up with this approach, here's a little game where I can guess what number you choose (from 1 - 1000) in under 10 guesses. When I make a guess, you tell me I'm right, too high or too low.
My first guess is 500 (spitting the difference).
If 500 is too high, my next guess is 250, followed by 125 or 375 and I keep splitting the difference until I get the right number.

    Stability
Several years ago we suggested running each of the three Prime95 tests for 24 hours each to "ensure" that the system is fully stable. Some lazy overclockers consider their systems to be stable if there are no BSOD's or freezes. I've had a few Prime95 worker errors after the 10 hour mark, but nearly all worker errors occur earlier in the test. This is why my standard is to run each of the Prime95 tests for 8 - 12 hours to ensure that my system is stable. It's possible for a system that isn't stable to cause data corruption in files and this can happen without your system crashing.

    Your memory voltage is good.
MCH Core voltage might be stable using 1.24 volts, but your current 1.26 volt setting is well within reason.

Time to finish your stress testing and enjoy your system.
If you have any further questions, you know where to find me.

    Love it.

Still going now with the test...at the 12hr mark...no errors.

I will continue with your suggestions about splitting the difference, and we'll see how that goes.

    I'll keep you posted.
