    The AUTO setting for tRD (Static tRead Value) is OK so far with your motherboard. I've seen many setups where the AUTO setting was displayed as blank or 15 in Memset's Performance Level. Lower values are preferable, but this isn't a concern until you reach your final overclock. Cpu speed has the most effect on system performance. Settomg tRD too low will lead to BSODs and/or boot loop problems. The same goes for MCH Core. Your DRAM voltage might be too high with your current memory speeds; lowering it a little might help with stability.

    Using one of the D memory strap multipliers is OK with cpu host frequency = 400MHz or higher. Some have found that the D-strap is easier to get stable above 400MHz and the B-strap can be more difficult above 400MHz. I haven't had any trouble with the B-strap with my P35 and P45 motherboards. YMMV.

    Some cpu's require higher or lower vcore voltages than identical processors in other systems. Your cpu can safely go up to about 1.40 volts if needed. As you overclock higher, the cpu vcore will gradually need to be increased. At some point, much higher cpu voltages will be required for small increases in cpu speed.

    Some have problems with cpu host frequency = 400MHz, and they have better stability with 399 or 401MHz settings. With slightly higher cpu vcore voltage, skip 400MHz and use 401 - 405MHz. Your cpu and motherboard should be stable in the 425 - 450MHz range and possibly higher. Many Q9550/EP45-UD3P (or R) systems are stable using 475MHz or higher.

    With P35 and P45 systems, BSOD 0x124 usually means that CPU Vcore is too low.

    Its a steep learning curve this overclocking I tell you. :)

    Have a look at these figures. I cant seem to brake the 395 barrier without it crashing . This has been stable for 4hrs on these settings. I will post very soon what settings I have tried and failed.

    Ok..update...After 4and a half hours it did the BSOD.

    I have tried several of the D settings (the first 2..cant remember the exact numbers sorry...), but got the blue screen within 45minutes if starting prime.

    I also tried 398, increased the vcore to 1.28, but again got the BSOD within 30min.

    This is really getting tougher.....trying to get this thing stable. I keep hoping there is a magical number that I am missing to make it work well.....maybe I should settle for 3.1ghz? I would like, just to get to 400ghz...LOL

    EdIT: Now trying the D memory setting @ approx 1066, and 401mhz, and its been running for an hour fine.....going to bed now...continue later.

    What was the BSOD error code? 0x124?
    What was the last FFT size in the Results.txt file?
    Keep in mind that voltage settings that are too low or too high can also lead to instability.
    All voltages need to be within a small "reasonable" range.

    Memset shows that your primary memory timings are 7-7-7-18 but your bios template shows that you are using 9-9-9-24.
    It's important that we know which settings are using AUTO and which ones are manually set, for example:
    CAS Latency Time -------- 9 ------ [AUTO] Memset reports 7

    Manually set:
    CPU PLL ------- 1.500V* ------: [1.57] or 1.59 <-- don't go higher
    ICH I/O -------- 1.500V* ------: [1.57]

    Has increasing MCH Core helped with stability?
    Try increasing DRAM Voltage slightly. You might also need to test with slightly lower memory voltage.

    Start Hardware Monitor before you start your tests so that we can see the difference between maximum and minimum values.
    Save a screen-shot of Hardware Monitor after 30 - 60 minutes of Prime95 in case you get a BSOD.

    If you're changing multiple settings at one time, you don't know which setting helped or hurt your results.
    Four hours of Prime95 indicates that your system is reasonably stable, but the BSODs indicate that there's a significant problem.
    Prime95 errors usually result in one or more worker errors, not BSODs.

    For your next test, manually set CPU PLL and ICH I/O using the settings I gave you.
    If your most recent BSOD was 0x124, also increase CPU Vcore 2 clicks higher.
    Post your detailed results and then we'll try increasing DRAM voltage to 1.65 volts if there is no improvement.

    LinX or IBT (IntelBurn Test) are not nearly as thorough as Prime95, but sometimes they will report an error in a much shorter time.
    When you make bios changes, first run a 5 loop test with IBT or LinX using "all available memory" or 2048K.
    Don't wast your time by running more than 10 loops. More than 10 loops is cpu abuse.
    If this preliminary test passes, then run the longer running Prime95 Blend test.

    If your Kingston memory is the value ram variety (without heatsinks), this might be part of the problem.
    I've seen many problems with their value ram modules when overclocking, but most people have good results with the Kingston HyperX models.
    The P45 motherboards are much harder to overclock when using DDR3 memory; DDR2 memory is usually easier to overclock with.

    Glad to see that you're making progress with your overclocked stress testing.

    Conners isn't a slow learner, he's a half-fast learner.
    To his credit, he did an excellent job posting detailed screen-shots and included accurate bios templates many, many times in his overclocking threads.
    There's a wealth of excellent information in both of his Q9550/EP45-UD3P overclocking threads:
    Those were the good old days when men were men and sheep ran scared.

    My only gripe with Conners is that he supports the rabid, reactionary, wrong-wing party (aka Republicans).
    It seems like ancient histor when liberal Democrats and conservative Republicans actually worked together in a bipartisan manner.
