    Unhappy H77M-D3H UEFI bug

    Hi,

after having some problems with an Asus board, today I bought a
    H77M-D3H GigaByte.

I like quite a few things of this mobo but it has a nasty bug in its
    UEFI bios.

If you connect a 720p tv/monitor to the HDMI port you can't enter
the bios or the computer will hang. With a CRT connected to the VGA
port it works without problems, as long as the 720p monitor is NOT
connected or it will hang anyway.

This happens with bios versions F4 and F6, the last one I could find.

At the moment I don't have my 1080p plasma to which this mobo
will be connected since it broke last week. The SAT lent my this
720p where I found this bug.

Any chance to see this fixed any time soon?

I was wrong about the TV being 720p, it is in fact 1080p which means the bug
    affects the HDMI output.

Thinking about how rare it would be to have such a bug without anyone noticing
I realized it should be something specific to this TV set, the EDID data being faulty.

So I checked it and it is indeed invalid. So the bug remains but slightly changed,
the GigaByte bios hangs when it finds an invalid EDID on the connected screen.

I know the fault is the tv maker's but the bios should not hang so deep that an
    electrical reset is needed.
