Default Latest BIOS for the P67A-UD3-B3

Hi All, I was wondering if anybody using this Gigabyte board P67A-UD3-B3 F9 BIOS has updated to the latest U1a(UEFI BIOS) and had any problems? With the F9 Bios my system runs pretty smooth, but I was curious about the new UEFI Bios is it worth updating to the new style Bios and benifits to it. Thanks for any replys or suggestions.

If you are just using windows as operating system, then the boot up is quick. If you are using Hackintosh, from my experience on my mobo > Z68X-UD3H-B3, Sleep/Wake doesn't work and No over clocking.

I have the P67A-UD3-B3 and Z68XP-UD3 and I probably won't bother to flash the new BIOS.

Thanks for the replys. The Sleep/Wake doesn't work and No over clocking on a mac, that kinda stinks. Does the OC functions work well and is it easier to overclock on a Windows OS?

If you are using windows, then is perfect. I kind of like the new UEFI bios but i am using a Hackintosh so i will stick with Award Bios.

I have it. F9 also. I want to hear the benefits of the new bios. PCI 3.0 for example(w/3rd gen proc). I have a thread on this issue also. I will flash it soon. I have faith in Gigabyte. Best OC boards around!

Flashed board week or so after prg offered d/l. That part went ok under Win 7 x64 Ultimate. Seemed to boot bit faster. For Sleep had to turn off all the devices' power options 'Don't let the device wake...' like for mouse, kb, and anything with that option. Else nearly anything will wake the mobo even slightest bump. Just did the Win 8 64x Pro fresh install - not Upgrade which butchered 50% legacy prgs. Fresh came up booting really fast. No freezes or slowdowns. Win 7 was ok that way but did have several freezes if pushed too hard. Only nit would be the lack of Bluetooth for the touch MS mice. But the Ergonomic 7000 series works fine 7000 wireless. They don't have any lag which they did now & then on W 7. Be warned that UFEI is offered then in addition to prior bios when booting Win 8 Install DVD. For me there were a few conditions where sometimes the W 8 Installer refused to go until booted to that place with one of the two choices. Thought would go with either of the mobo DVD bootstrap options, but nope. Once have W 8 on tight that's a none issue. So I'd go for it just for Sleep, speeds, lack of freezes. Haven't tried o/c of icore 7 920 that wasn't stable under air at all on my W 7 rig. Do the various W 8 drivers right away cause W 8 will put up its generics which do work softly. But MS Update couldn't install the Brother printer driver - Brother site promises one for January so operates in basic cripple function. This is to be expected. Found videos lot cleaner & faster over cable. Need your LAN driver at hand to put on newer one than Giga ones. Brother install warns to not use the supplied DVD one, use site. So that's about it for now. Oh gonna try the MS Explorer Touch mouse with USB tiny dongle to see how smooth it is over a few days. Store trial was bit poor given the way they block the sensor w/ those anti theft plates. later
