On the MB top left hand corner is "Rev: 1.1" I think this is the Revision number.

I'm guessing you installed your chipset drivers and such. I think I would try the latest F8 Bios GIGABYTE - Motherboard - Socket AM3+ - GA-990FXA-UD3 (rev. 1.1) for the 1.1 rev board. But that doesn't explain why it locks up and reboots. Say is that rockfish psu a 20 or 24 pin connector and does it have a 8-pin ATX 12V power connector?

Man Internet Express is a hastle to use.
The PSU is 24 pin and yes CPU Power is 8 pin connector. I havnt installed the chipset drivers or anything but the F8 BIOS from the link you provided. I havnt got into windows to use the CD that came with the MB. Is there a way I can install the chipset drivers and what not with a Flash key, also have an external HDD. hanki you for your time and help Conners. My name is Guy.

Don't know anything about AMD motherboards, processors or their bios. I would suggest that you reset you CMOS, look at your bios settings and if possible load optimized defaults. Maybe rum memtest86 on your memory. Look at rasing your Vcore or whatever AMD calls it. Will your board run with one stick of memory? IDK... Do you get any beeps, bsod or anything when starting the system besides just locking up and rebooting?
