    Unhappy X58A UD-5 USB Problems

    Hi all this is my first post here and I hope you can help

    I configure my computer for audio recording use only and use a tool called DPC Latency Checker to make sure there system is running as it should for Audio or Video

    I have my computer running in windows at between 6u and 8u on the DPC checker

    Today I was looking at my DPC Checker and it was hitting peeks from 6u up to 200u when I was moving my Dpi Mouse.

    I could not understand why when I move the mouse it increases latency according to the DPC and when I stop moving it will go back to 6u with a max of 20u ( even max of 20u is never seen on my system )

    when I remove my mouse form the USB port ( second usb on the right ) The DPC latency drops to 6u where it should be.

    I have put the mouse in all the other ports and it will not change the DPC latency from 6 it is only causing problems in that one port.

    I put another mouse in the usb port that is causing the problem and nothing happens windows cant see its there.

    If I put it in any other USB port windows will see it.

    This is causing me a lot of problems can anyone please help me to fix this issue ASAP or tell me if there is a chance my MOBO has become defective ?

    My worry is if I have this problem then do I have other underlying problems with the mobo that might rear its ugly head ?

    Other than the RAM, GPU and MB version (Mine is a 1.0) we have the same system, if you post what ports you were using I can see is mine does the same thing.

    Vin
    Main Rig
    OS = Win8.1
    CPU = i7-980X @ 4.17Ghz 144x29 cooled by custom Loop
    Mem = 12GB 2000Mhz corsair Dominator GT at 2010Mhz @ 9-10-9-27-2T
    MB = Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD5 v1.0 with F6 Bios - Dead Board
    MB = EVGA X58 Classified3 e770
    GPU = 2x Sapphire r9 290x in xfire
    HD = 2x Toshiba 120GB Raid 0 (580MB Read/140MB Write)
    Storage = 2TB WD Black
    PSU = EVGA SuperNOVA 1300w
    Case = Cooler Master HAF-X 945

    HTPC / Home Server
    OS = Win7 64Bit running XBMC HTPC Front end with Windows Server 2011 Virtual Machine with 8GB ram assigned for homer server with exchange
    CPU = AMD 1090T
    Mem = 16GB 1600Mhz Kingston RED Limited Edition running at 1600Mhz
    MB = Gigabyte 790FXTA-UD5
    GPU- EVGA GT210
    HD = too many to count, but about 5TB of storage all together including backup

    Thanks its the second usb 2 on the board.

    I spoke with UK support today who think due to it causing DPC latency issues and not working with other USB devices that the port or the controller could be defective.

    I will be trying the beta bios in the morning but if there is no luck with that then they have told me to get it to them through the shop I bought it from since its still under warranty.

    Running it here on my system and I'm averaging 60-70Us... Peak of 95Us. I've tried all the ports, moving my mouse and also moving it from one USB port to another and I only ever got a 232Us peak is when I plugged in my Razor Keyboard back in.

    Now you do realize that this software is measuring in Us (Micro Seconds) and that peak that you saw of 200Us is 0.0002 seconds... If you wanted to do any recording with your system I'd try to perform some white backround tests or possibly even a few tone generated test to see if this would even affect anything. Nothing even thinking of the pretty coloured lines in your DPC checker I wouldn't bat an eye at anything in the 1-5msec (1000Us-5000Us) range before even thinking there was an issue.

    now have you tried a different mouse? The Mouse I am using is a regular Microsoft Mouse... Not an insane 4000dpi POS that people think they need.
