is it better to use beta driver, or full release, since beta bios might have problems?

thats the right bios for your board, theres no mention of rev1 as thats the only revision of that board, yes that guide is refering to raid setups,if you follow what i said above youll be fine,if you press reset button it will restart or should restart the mb

its up to you, beta will have latest fixes months before they become final, currently using latest beta myself with no issues

im still contemplating whether to flash the bios or not, im still waiting on a reply from gigabyte tech support, though i have no clue how long that will take since its already been about 24 hours. If i do screw it up somehow however unlikely would they refuse to rma it or anything?

they wont refuse rma,you have two bios chips so the backup bios will kick in,and it takes 2-3 days for gigabyte to reply but they will get back to you, aslong as you use qflash and flash from within the bios youll be ok

right i did the flash, but after the reboot which was prompted it did the same thing it does everytime it fails to post, im going to wait a couple mins then try booting. The flash was successful though, pretty sure of that.

I can confirm that the newer bios has been successfully flashed, but no luck, my problem still remains.

it could be power supply either faulty or compatibility issue,if you power off the psu at the back and hold in the case power switch it will discharge the board of any remaining power,it might be quicker than letting the board rest for a while

    youve tested without gpu?

yeah im testing without gpu right now, packed the gpu back since it was working with that anyway, and i didnt want to keep it resting on the board (looked awkward) , ill try that discharging thing.

tried the discharge thing, i held the button like 6 seconds, thats okay right? didnt make any difference though, i maybe need to track down a power supply i can borrow but that will be hard i think. So its either the psu or motherboard.

lookslike it to me,can recommend these psu's

Novatech PowerStation Gaming 600W Silent ATX2 Modular Power Supply | NOV-PSG600

ive used 4 of them and all work fine,if you go through quidco you get another 3% off,if it doesnt fix it you can return it to them for refund but they will charge you 10% re stocking fee

its either that or the motherboard, tbh ive seen a few psu compatability problems

another thing, in the bios my cpu temps are fine, like 30c idle with the fan on fairly low rpm, but one of the cores for some reason is about 8-10c higher than the others at 40c, is this expected or did i not apply thermal paste properly (used the blob in the middle though was offcentered).
